If so, with Sparkly building a racing version it makes him the Emperor and whoever owns the meanest, fastest Octavia can lay claim to the Darth Vader title.

It's around 440bhp.  It's the fastest Skoda by some margin.

He did keep up with me at Combe for two corners (in the GT-R) before going sideways in a cloud of tyre smoke coming out of the chicane.

 

Factor in it probably weighs around 1200kg with 440bhp and the GT-R is 1800kg with 550bhp and you can see why it's so nippy.

It also runs tarmac spec rally tyres.  I was on stock rubber so it shows how well the GT-R corners as standard as there wasn't much between them.

 

I doubt there is anything on this site with a Skoda badge that can keep up with it.

I may have a chance when the Citigo is finished...  weight and power will be similar.

Yes it was, ask the man himself, but IIRC valve springs went when he took the rev limiter off, then rebuilt it with fancy £1000's double springs but still plumed blue smoke so he just got rid of it.
