vRS Diesel Stuttering - no warning lights

Featured Replies

Hi,

My first post :).

Our 57-plate vRS Diesel Estate has been misfiring for a few months now. Never had a warning light. Normally stutters when pulling through 2.5k revs and feels akin to "carb icing".

Skoda main dealer has spent a couple of hours trying to diagnose it without success. They are asking for another 2-3 hours at their normal rate - this is even before we move on to whatever the fix is.

Has anyone else experienced this problem please? Hoping I can pass some suggestions on to the garage in order to shorten the discovery time.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I am now in a position to answer my own post. We still don't know the root cause but the resultant problem was oil in the fuel filter. Replaced filter and car is running perfectly. Might need to replace again every 10k miles or so, but certainly a cheaper option than the alternatives!

Hope that helps someone.

You beat me to it, I was going to say fuel filter. Had similar problems on the Roomster last year.

I think I have read previously that oil in the fuel filter could be down to a failing fuel pump?
