Variable Boot Floor and Spare Wheel

Featured Replies

I have a question about the Variable Boot Floor when you have a Spare Wheel.  Does the spare take up any room of the lower floor space or is it sunken below the lower floor?

It's sunken below the lower level, the same as with cars without VBF it's in a recess under the floor.

Thanks Neily03...  I had seen some pictures which didn't give a definitive answer.

As above, the variable boot floor is an additional floor above the original boot floor that regular non VBF cars have, you can drop it from flat to the boot sill to practically regular level, the additional boot floor laying flush on the regular one.

My Elegance had a 205 55 R16 "spacesaver" spare wheel from the factory under the original floor.

Similarly my SE 4x4 has a full size 205/55 R16 spare in the well under the lower floor :giggle:

Apologies could not resist  :notme:

Anyway one of my favourite options on our car the variable floor.

Thanks very much guys.... wanted to mark all answers as solved but will only let me mark one. I was worried that the spare may intrude into the underfloor space.

Indeed its hardly a spacesaver, not quite sure why Skoda refer to it as one! Did somewhat expect it to turn up with a unicycle tyre so was relieved that it had the proper spare as my previous two Skodas had done.
