Yep, the SD Card should be FAT32 format. If you are downloading the single zip file your hard drive on your PC must be formatted as NTFS.

 

Once downloaded, extract the contents to your SD Card (which must be the original Skoda SD Card for the MIB Amundsen, but can be any 32Gb SD Card for the Columbus).

I downloaded the full file, un-zipped it to a folder on my pc, deleted the folder and file from the sd card, copied the new versions onto the card. All now working OK.

My Columbus update has only got to 50% applied to the Columbus - I'll see how long it takes to finish tomorrow. Thank goodness it resumes so you can keep turning the ignition off and eventually it will finish ...........

Do your maps store on the Colombus?

Miss Amundsen is so much easier, as its stored on the SD card. No transferring to the unit.

Yep - 18Gb needs to transfer from the SD to the internal HDD yawn ...............

Bugger that. Took me about an hour to transfer from my computer onto the SD card. Wouldnt want the same again to transfer onto Colombus.

And thats the Amundsen maps which are a lot smaller!

 

Just checked - the Amundsen ones are 5GB!

before I try to download these updates, what are they exactly? If they are corrections to the road system in Czechoslovakia (for instance) I don't think I need those.

Does anyone actually know?

Updates are for all European roads i believe. Certainly all European countries that are on the Sat Nav.

And thats the Amundsen maps which are a lot smaller!

Think my main file was over 5GB, whilst the old one was just under 5GB. Was a difference of about 0.8/ 0.9 GB
