Well I pick my C250 up tomorrow. It's not the wait that's the issue, I get supply and demand, I get it can be unpredictable and difficult to manage but.... All I want is a firm date given to me when

My second Plan B arrived. I was looking at 2 Skodas at 1 point but sadly lack of info etc..we all know the story..any way love the GTI and the interior is a big step up on previous Golfs. Also love the adaptive cruise control. Takes some getting use to but is very good.

Those who got it on the early vRS are lucky.

Spec.

GTI PP, dsg, DCC, Park assist, Sat nav, 19" Santiagos, climate windscreen, etc.

Lovely, sorry to the briski die-hards but price and cabin space aside would have that over a vRS any day of the week!

Those 19's are just to die for!

Thanks. Yes I was not bothered about 19" and was happy with the standard until I saw them in the showroom back in Jan when I ordered ..then had to have them. Interior really is nice with red led strips that light up along doors and door sills to mimic the GTI red grill strip makes a nice touch.

Service was night and day not my local skoda dealers fault of course but can recommend Vw in Huntingdon.

Once I get some miles on it and the tyres scubbed in I will give it a proper go and see how the diff works. Gets good write ups so will see. Euro trip planned in next month or so also.

Got a few rubbish phone pics today. After a week the car is already resembling a play group with kids toys and assorted raisins!

Could still do with a bit more boot space though!

Rear space is great though, although my sons still managed to scuff up the back of the seat already!

There is a separate filler next to the fuel filler for the additive that helps with the emissions. Guess they top it up when it goes in for a service?!

A6 Black Edition Ultra a lovely car.

By the way you still have protective wrap on the chrome load lip in the boot

I'm a happy plan b'er!

Yeah I know, figured it might buy me another week or so before it all gets more scuffed up! ;)

I know what you mean im getting a protective clear film fitted to the Alltrack boot sill this week and the GTI already has one when I picked it up...well worth the money.

The early higher power HDI (PSA) engines - think it was the 2.2? - used some sort of emissions additive which I though was to do with DPFs.  AdBlue is apparently to do with NOx emissions - HGVs have had it for years.  Seems to be available at every motorway services I've ever been to.  Never seen it on a car before though?

Yeah adblue is urea based. Its injected into the exhaust and by means of some catalytic process in the exhaust reduces the harmful Nitrogen Oxide particles produced by lean burn diesels into Nitrogen and Water.

Think its pretty key to making many diesel engines EU6 compliant, wouldnt be surprised if nearly every VAG diesel uses this tech soon.

Gather the adblue is used sparingly, dont know how big the tank would be in the A6 but doubt it'll need filling often.

Apparently somewhere between 2% and 5% I gather - not a great deal but tanks seems to be sized to last about the same as the longest service interval (plus a bit), so another nice little addition to the bill come service time....

I finally got round to having a read of the manual and the adblue tank is 17litres. Still not entirely clear on refill but it seems to suggest 'when necessary' rather than at every service.

I'm still yet to see a VRS on the road despite keeping my eyes peeled. Having said that, I haven't seen another a6 ultra on the road yet either. Sure by the end of the year that will have changed. :)

Have now rolled over 500 miles in the a6 and very pleased with plan b. Lovely place to be and as long as you keep the gearbox in sport, it goes really well. Left to its own devices it shifts up so quickly that it feels like driving a cab.

Still gutted that I've ended up in a diesel given I only do 8000 a year, but seems like trying to get a petrol engine is impossible outside the vrs (and as we know they take 10 years to arrive!!)

The new a6 ultra diesel is very refined though ( for a 4pot diesel) with no rattles or shakes from the start/stop etc.

Still waiting to see some pics of a meteor grey vrs combi with the silver gemini's (which was my original order) as sure it would look great in the flesh. Having said that, the daytona grey of the audi with the titanium rotors seems to work really well. Especially in the sun!

I cycle to work along the kingsway from hove to west st so better start keeping an eye out!!

Must be a nightmare at the moment with the roadworks following the collapse by the fortune of war!

Small world! I used to work in West Street. Used to feel like cycling against a wind-tunnel heading back to Portslade along that cycle path :)

It is definitely keeping me fit! Might only be a few miles, but sure feels like a few more!! Lovely coming along the seafront past the King Alfred in summer though. :)

My plan B arrived at the weekend, after an initial hiccup, I ended up factory ordering it in early June and it arrived 7 weeks later...
