Is this the new CitiGo Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

Hmm I'm planning to go Black grille and mirrors now. Just need to find out if the mirror covers are ready painted (doubt it).

Ah the nightmare of the grille again :(

  • I like the black grill and roof, not so sure on the black wing mirrors. Something is lacking with this incarnation of the sport. It just doesn't look quite right with out the bonnet and roof stripes.

  • That's because it looks virtually identical to our Sport's, but that someone's bashed the bottom of the wheel with a hammer

  • Skoda use "publicity shots" and photoshops that feature suspension lower than the real cars. It makes them look better.   Have a look at the Rapid etc...  the pics look good, while the actual cars

Got to admit, first thing I thought when I saw the Monte Carlo was "I can finally get a black grill for her Sport when she orders it"

I've just priced up the Black insert from the S model and it's £27.

Is it definitely gloss black? - the pictures I've seen (everything in this thread) and it looks like the S one to me.

I really should be asleep.. but I'm gonna come right out with it.. I'm somewhat 70-80% sure the roof won't be black.. it's just the sunroof, I could be wrong however

I see it says the monte has chrome door handles! Small things!

Other than that though, it seems as if its specced the same as the sport and a couple of hundred pound more expensive!

The chrome is a nice addition. Other changes include the glossy dash, black headlining, "black pack" (mirrors and grille).. whether that's worth the extra I don't know..

Still a nice car though, hopefully Skoda UK will make it available with the other wheel options again soon.

Looking at the Elegance page you can get a Supersport steering wheel as an option, no picture though so not sure if it is the same as the Monte Carlo wheel.

Looking carefully at those pictures of the Monte - and the dash interior picture is a photo of the Sport model complete with "old-hat" round steering wheel and "sport" logo on the passenger side.

All the pictures show the Monte Carlo with a sunroof, but it's not listed as an option in the brochure. Looks like you can't have heated seats either, which I would miss after having them in my Elegance.

I notice that all models now come with tyre pressure monitoring, which is a useful addition.

TPM I guess partly explains the price rise.

Heated seats and sunroof are of course optional in the Czech Republic..

I've also just noticed that the brochure suggests there is no additional cost for the silver version. I'm thinking that's probably a mistake...

I've just had a call from Skoda UK in response to an email I sent over the weekend. They said the Monte Carlo should be available to order from this Friday.

It will be nice to see a new CitiGo..

according to that PDF there is no sport anymore, so its a renamed sport, and then you have the option for a sports pack (stripey stickers) on any model.

Ah I see. So us Sport owners are quite privileged now :)

There was a White 5 door Sport on my dealers forecourt and it sold the day they put it there.

memory seat positions on the 3 door and cruise control options on the monte carlo..

white stripes, silver or black in the sport pack.

sounds nice....

I have enquired at my local dealer and apparently it's only available in the red or pearlescent black (extra £490) in the UK with no sunroof and no options for the 16" alloys. I want a silver one!

I would question that if I were you as the UK brochure clearly shows silver as being an option on the colours page (although it's not listed in the options section on the MC page). My dealer told me the silver would be £490. Might be worth checking with Skoda UK.

Officially announced in the motoring press this afternoon!

Skoda launches new Monte Carlo trim for the Citigo, with prices starting from £10,590

The Skoda Citigo is now available in Monte Carlo trim, priced from £10,590.

Based on mid-range SE spec, the new variant is available as a three- or five-door, with the first deliveries scheduled for July.

There are black design details featured on all version of the Monte Carlo, helping the latest version of the city car stand out from the rest of the range. Included in the changes are alterations to the alloys, front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser, grille and door mirrors.

A sports steering wheel and Monte Carlo red/black upholstery make up the main visual changes to the interior, although Skoda’s PID infotainment system is also fitted as standard, featuring sat-nav, Bluetooth connectivity, a media player, and trip and vehicle information.

Only one engine option will be offered at launch, the 59bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol currently available in the Citigo range. Paired to Skoda’s five-speed manual, the new Monte Carlo will manage 0-62mph in 14.4 seconds, whilst only emitting 105g/km CO2 and managing a combined 62.8mpg.

The £10,590 three-door is £1,810 more expensive than the equivalent SE model, while the five-door Monte Carlo sees an identical increase and starts at £10,940.

Toy car for 11k? Overpriced tat. I despair at the direction Skoda UK are headed.
