Is it me are the headlights more darker??

Everytime I look at the pics I like it, just wish they did a higher engine.

What i think is that the lights do have a black border however actual lamps are same as the outgoing model.

Yeti, Fabia and rapid defo have black headlights...

  • I like the black grill and roof, not so sure on the black wing mirrors. Something is lacking with this incarnation of the sport. It just doesn't look quite right with out the bonnet and roof stripes.

  • That's because it looks virtually identical to our Sport's, but that someone's bashed the bottom of the wheel with a hammer

  • Skoda use "publicity shots" and photoshops that feature suspension lower than the real cars. It makes them look better.   Have a look at the Rapid etc...  the pics look good, while the actual cars

I see they've added a foot rest now.

Hasn't the LHD Citigo always had a foot rest?

Oops I wasn't aware of that looks like you are correct.

Having looked at all these I think the Yeti looks the best of the bunch - it just looks great.

agreed

Why are they prattling about with stickers - Citigo VRS simple, I'd buy one tomorrow if it had 100bhp and sorted suspension and brakes.

Any thing else is just stickers.

Sorted suspension and brakes?

Suspension (on the Sport anyway) is spot on, and the brakes are keen enough (even if it had another 40PS)

Agree that 100PS minimum would be great, but doubtful they'll ever do a vRS version...

So, we'll just have to live with sporty looking stickers instead

Still a fantastic little car

I don't have the luxury of a car in front of me to check, but the dash trim..? Easy to change out? Missus would prefer the piano black trim... I guess steering wheel could also be changed, but pricey...

 sorted suspension and brakes.

.

Why does everyone mention the suspension? On the sport and elegance the suspension is spot on. It's probably got the best steering / suspension of any skoda probably on the market.

We all want a 100bhp TSI version though!

As I've always been a fan of the black dash, I wonder how much it would cost me to change, lol!

My sister has a sport in red fantastic little car that's not the point im making. This new Monti carlo is not different enough to be worth the bother. It must cost them more for the design and generating new part numbers than they will get back in revenue. If you ask me the sport looks better as it is. Regards the suspension if you drop a new VRS lump in the front with associated cooling and jiggery pokery its going to upset the balance of the car so the suspension will need a tweek and the brakes uprated to cope with the extra speed. It makes sense that a vrs will be more track focused so they would lower it to improve the corner handling even if it compromises ride comfort.

Now I get what your saying, you've explained it much better.

Have to agree with everything your saying

I too am not impressed by this half hearted attempt by Skoda

Sport looks better (and that's not me being biased btw, it just does!)

I agree that on outside the sport looks better. On the inside though I prefer the monte from what I've seen so far.

I guess skoda are going towards the monte carlo as it's something they are doing across the range.

My only worry if they ever make a vrs version is that the price will be silly. VW have already bandied a price of about 14-15k for the proposed up gt.

I must be missing something then, because all I can see is a dented steering wheel and a bit of shiny black plastic on the dash... hardly radical! (Also retrofittable if really required)

I dont know, maybe its just me...

but if you love it that's fine

Like the look, but...... id wait till the end of the year and go for the 105bhp up GT :) looks like its finally going to be reality... there are 2 ups with 105bhp used by the execs of VW with a slightly modded chassis/suspention but from the outside look like a standard up....... might even be enough to tempt me from my elegance citigo with all the options........

It's the dented steering wheel and the black dash that I like. But yeah, retrofittable, though the parts costs might be prohibitive.

If the up gt comes out I'll be seriously interested but it depends on the cost.

They said that last year.

Nope, don't think it looks as good as the sport. Really don't like the shiney dash, to ' up' for me.

I'll say again, delighted we've got 2 sport models, bring on a vrs version!

I always liked the gloss black dash in the up, but after having a long look at the pics I'm not sure I'm so keen on it now, lol.

Deffo like the flat bottomed steering wheel though and the metal look interior door handles.

I wonder what the prices will be for the monte.

I wondered how hard the handles would be to change out. Would be interesting to see a photo with the door card off..

This Citigo Monte just doesn't look as good as the Sport for me, it just looks like a sport that's lost a bit of its distinctiveness.

We won't be rushing to change swmbo's Sport for one. Now a VRS Citigo, that would give us serious food for thought.

Anyone know when this goes on sale in the UK?

We seem to have little info from SUK so far from this.

No sale date, no price , no spec....

I think my Sport will arrive before we hear anything, so no changing for me..

I second that...
