vRS calliper paint?

Featured Replies

Hi All

My 2012 vRS callipers on the front look really pale and crap compared to how they were and the rears are still bright red. It has always been cleaned using good quality cleaning agents. Is it just the amount of heat generated on the front that turns them this way?

Also different issue:

On long stretches of down hill where no throttle is used the initial press of the throttle/pick up, can be very stuttery momentarily, always seems to be around 1500rpm.

I had an expensive car seize on me so always weary of stuttering etc gives me huge stomach churning moments as that was the last thing my Freelander did before a £4k invoice for a full rebuild (oil pump stopped) not ignorance.

It is due its second service next week think it is worth a mention but doubt they will find anything but it started about a month ago. It is a diesel vRS.

The bright red caliper paint at about £7 on eBay will soon have them looking like new. 125ml will be enough to do all four ends.

But should they fade so badly on a car with only 16k, never really raced/heavily braked just normal driving.

My front callipers have been pink for a while, tired cleaning them with white spirit, but not much joy. The rears are still shiny and red, which is mildly annoying! I have 32k on my car now.

A good polish helps. Mine were sealed when new and still look as they came out of the factory 18 months ago.

Do you have a link to the correct paint?

There's quite a few to pick from but this one should be okay.
