We Fabia Owners......

Featured Replies

Just become the proud owners of a 51 plate Fabia 1.4 16v Elegance in silver.

What a lovely little car to drive this is, fully loaded with leccy bits, alloys, CD player etc. With 10600 miles on the clock is this a bargain at

Good choice Des. Price sounds about right.

No major concerns I can think of, so just enjoy it for now.

Anything planned for the little Fab?

Good to see, Des - All you need to do now is pass off your RS at a ridiculous price to someone, like me. :D

If its elegance, I assume its got 15" or 14" alloys, which should be really nice - Can't recommend 17" wheels enough for even better cornering.

Ummm.........

 Congratulations on your new arrival!

(Taken it round to Mikes yet? ;) )

Des,

Congrats,

My sons got a W plate dynamis blue 1.4 16v elegance, with the "yellow" seats etc its a great car, no problems and he gives it loads of stick

Hes had problem with the engine management light coming on - that was caused by a faulty break light switch very common fault evidently. Cool Coke from now on cooled by the air con.

John

How do all you Fabia drivers think this model compares with the VRS Fabia for round the town driving. Is it a gutless wonder or quite adequate. Seems rather a bargain to me. If only it had nice seats and a set of 17ins alloys that might convince the wife (plus a Turbo to convince me).

Chris

Duh, should have guessed that your web link holds all the treasures, Jason... :(

:D

Does it come with a bus pass to Des?

Andy

ducking now to avoid anything thrown.....

Yes. Stick the 1.4 16V badge on with Araldite ASAP. I have reason to believe that a black market exists for them in the darker corners of Briskoda. rolleyes.gif

PS If you haven't got any Araldite, swap the badge for a vRS one - nobody pinches those - until such time as you can buy some.

seriously, please don't. :D I've just shelled out

Des, please asure me you don't bring the Fabia on Sunday :D

Good choice in car there Des. Glad you seem to like it. Haven't had any problems with mine apart from:

1. n.s.f lower ball joint going - over-enthusiastic driving (aka trackdays!) :D

2. engine management light on - I think my cat fell off as i was driving down the road one day! :p

Happy driving mate

 cat fell off! oooh deary me. You sure it didn't get any assistance in falling off? Involving a lever of some kind?

Chris,

The 16v model handles itself in town very well - and on twisty A-Roads, Motorways, etc, etc.... :D It may not have the brute force of an Octy vRS, but it still has plenty of go in it. Can't comment on the Fabia vRS (or indeed any diesel fabs) as I've not driven any!

"More than adequate" would be the best way to describe the 16v, IMHO.... :)

Des - congrats on your purchase. Nothing obvious springs to mind to suggest, apart from not to try and paint the air vents silver.... :D

Hmmmm....

Pot?

Kettle?

 My car's still in standard exhaust form? Nothing else probably will in a short while though.

I meant it was a bit rich of you to accuse someone else of mangling parts of their car by "accident" when it's clearly your trademark move :D

Must be a fault with Skodas, mine and Dave's had the same problem :D

Maybe a second use for the Araldite? ;)

Sorry, Steve - Its been so long since I've made a headlight cover fall into my gearbox cables... :D

My first thought was you were accusing me of going down the de-cat route...

I was hoping my trademark had faded a bit by now. :(

Velcro?

velcro - a possible amp / sub securing device? :D

I can see I'm going to have the best fun in the world finding some way of securing my audio equip.

Another use for the araldite :D

If you don't fancy glueing it, I've got a rivet gun :D

Or maybe an arc welder? The electro magnetic field from that won't do the amp much harm, will it?

Perhaps there might be some arcs anyway, given Jason's extensive wiring experience. ;)
