And what better way to convince a fresh Dutch Fabia TDI owner (not me, incidentally) of the virtues of 17" alloys than pointing him to pictures of your shiny motor? :D

You won't believe that the guy is now going for 16", in the process making out Jason's TDI as a "Fabia SUV"!

Well, I happen to like those 17"...

How did my car get involved in this S.U.V talk again? Oh, I see now - Damn cheek :D

Somehow I feel it corners just a LITTLE better than an S.U.V.... scrrreeeecch! Yeehaa!

Must be a fault with Skodas, mine and Dave's had the same problem :D

Maybe a second use for the Araldite? ;)

I knew there had to be something wrong with Skoda. Everything seemed to be all to perfect! :p

you should 21" next jason there is a range rover near to me i could rob the wheels off

(maybe glue them on with araldite:rolleyes: )

hmm. 21" wheels. Now theres an idea!

all it needs now is 4x4 and a rollcage and jason would have a mean tractor:D

Don't worry - the guy's chosen 17" after all. I guess the full effect of your car's pictures only hit him later on... :D

Speak to someone who I was following on a little jaunt before the RPM tour.... I even got scooby maestro Gossy to say my little diesel was keeping up OK - I omitted to say that was because I was booting the tractor everywhere! On a 40 mile trip I average less than 40mpg, trying to keep up with the likes of Des, Gossy, Jon & Colin - It was quite tough!

Plus, I lost it a little on a 30mph bend, taken at 50mph  - And slightly overdid what was supposed to a small handbrake turn in the hotel car park into a 180... oops!

Jason having to boot it everywhere is no shame! Console yourself that they have probably double your BHP and most likely got half your MPG.

After the first two stages, Jon was averaging about 10mpg, but the medium pace jaunt to Pembrey & llandow made it more like 15mpg... Also, I reckon the 13 miles run with no boost could only have helped the average mpg. (It was however the LEAST of all matters on the day.)
