Picked up new turbo last night.

It was supposed to be a 150 hybrid... Got home and got it out and it's only a 130, so am a little sad :(

It's now fitted on the car, but drives like **** for some reason.

Very little boost, also sometimes there is 0 boost, slow right down and then try again and it comes back.

Also more black smoke... Probably because of the unbirnt fuel because no boost!

Can't be bothered to look at it now so just going to investigate tomorrow.

Wasn't a massive boost leak was it?

It was at first Charlie, and I thought it kind of fixed it, but the boost was still on or off.

Sometimes I'd put my foot down and Notbing would happen except black smoke coming out.

Might need mapping again mate. What turbo did you take off?

Definitely needs mapping, but not going to bother as the turbo is going back, because it's not a 150. Which it was supposed to be.

Fair enough mate. You can still get decent results from a hybrid130 :)

It's going to have to stay, because I can't get my old turbo back.

Now I'm upset, cause it's not what I want. And the car runs like a bag of ****, just before going to brands in 2 weeks time.

Was the new turbo properly setup in advance (actuator and stopscrew) ??

This is normally something done at the point of installation using VCDS.  Boost logging will show if actuator is bad - duty cycle gives clues whether rod needs shortening or lengthening. :)

You've already bought an FMIC.

It's just waiting for collection...

That makes a considerably happy George.

Just need to get the funds to get there!

Likely to be Thursdsy.

Really can't get my head around this boosting issue.

It must be the map.

Or as Jason says - the stop screw settings.

Going to have to live with it for a while.

Maybe I'll sell the air ride haha

All my woes and chatter has left the page with a distinct lack of photos

As John says run logs on it, he has worked wonders on my car and now runs and pulls amazing.

If you need any more indepth help with your pipework too, message me on here pal, easier than trying to explain on Instagram.

Thanks mate, I will do :)

The whole pipework thing is a tad confusing.

Far easier if I just had a shopping list and then just bought all the bits. When i cease to be poor :D haha
