Ordered today - let's see what the wait will be...

Featured Replies

After much deliberation I sent my order through for the following

Octavia VRS diesel manual

Black magic

19" Xtreme alloys

Leather red stitching and heated seats

Sunset glass

Sat nav

Bluetooth with voice control

Light assist and rain sensor

Colour maxi

Winter pack

Now the waiting game begins. I'm just praying that Skoda sort out this production delay sharpish as my hand-me-down V50 is getting damn boring!

Why worried about a winter pack on a tdi?

Sorry they are not connected other than both the vRS TDI and Winter Pack are what seem to has caused the most delays.

Great, trust me to get the one with potentially a really long delay.....

I visited Skoda Leicester and the guy I spoke to could hardly be bothered to show me the car. Went into reception, spoke to the lady who called through to the salesman. He walked out and I said I wanted to look at the VRS and the first thing he said was 'It's a 7 month wait on it, do you still want to look?'

I thought 'what a great sales pitch that was.......'

They are probably sick of dealing with frustrated customers cancelling orders.  Being honest about the worst bit (the wait) up front seems good to me.

Still, hardly a great reception.

If he'd have said "just so you are aware..." Or "have you heard about the wait times....,"

Last week SK UK stated 17-18wks for hatch.27wks for estate regardless of tsi or TDI, but think its only a guess. I never know weather to call for update and get annoyed or just wait till my phone rings to say ITS HERE, when ever that maybe.....

Winter pack won't cause any issues.

Bluetooth with voice control and light assist/rain sensor are standard so hope you've not been charge for them....

yeah, it's a lease vehicle so it was on their list of 'extras'. I have no idea why they always seem wrong.

Hi, I ordered on last week Thursday (6/3/14) and called the dealer up today to see if the order has been accepted by the factory. The dealer then said that they have an "unconfirmed" build week 16 for the car - which is 16 April? Can anyone help to clarify the what "unconfirmed" means in this case? Also, with most us expecting to wait 6 months for delivery, I cant see the car turning up in middle May as stated today? Any ideas?

^ is yours a VRS? I ordered mine between Xmas and new year and I've been given week 17 as a provisional. I don't think they get confirmed until 2 weeks before production.

Talking to SUK today, confirmed means that all of the parts are available and the order has a slot on the production line which is very unlikely to change. Unconfirmed is that based on throughput - it's a sensible estimate ?

Great, trust me to get the one with potentially a really long delay.....

Obviously wasnt needing his commission that month?!

Certainly an interesting sales pitch. Do you think this is just teething problems in manufacturing and they might start speeding things up?

This means nothing, mine was first on W13, W20, no buildweek, W8 and now hopefully build in W12 delivery on W14 this is 19 weeks after

the order, only good thing is that I receive a 1200€ discount for the long wait. By the way I had some options we know they delayed the buildweek:

pano roof, ACC, heated frontscreen, auxiliary heater and maybe some others.

Hi, Yes it's a VRS in Metal Grey. I was hoping that all the cancellation and the new metal grey might have pushed it up the build weeks. I suppose I will have to be patient like everyone else....

Thanks for that. It seems like things are moving in the right direction then. Lets see what happens.

Hi blokart, I can live with 19 weeks. it less than the quoted 22-24 weeks at the moment in the UK. My extras are minor to the ones listed by you. my extras include: Metal Grey, cruise control, sunset windows, towbar prep, pictoris wheels. So lets see hat happens 19 weeks will be super.

So, quick update.

Ordered middle March and Lex have come back with a stock date of 7/7/14. Not sure quite how accurate that will be but I'm amazed they have allocated a date so quickly.

Anyone else ordered through these guys?

Great, trust me to get the one with potentially a really long delay.....

I had the same kind of reception in December last year, I went to Skoda Coventry and ordered from them, completely different experience.

Amazing news today, after seeing the following

"15 Apr 2014 -15 Apr 2014 Prop Stock Change Order progressed-no change to stock date"

Repeated for week after week on the Lex Autolease updates it finally changed to

"13 May 2014-14 May 2014 Prop Stock Change From 2014-07-07 to 2014-06-16"

Now, here is the 2 key questions.

1) What is the chance of that being a MY2015 car?

2) How long does it take to get from the factory to the UK?

Does this even seem right? Official order placed on 25th March between my company and Lex. This would equate to a less than 3 month wait -12 weeks.....

Sounds like the quality sales pitch on my last car

"You're an idiot not to buy the demo car", after they show me around the car that's the same price bar a few £100, in a colour I don't want and with 3k on the clock.

Safe to say they never got my business and I got my car from another dealer's 30miles further away just to obtain decent service.

As to the questions, it might be worth calling the lease company before getting your hopes up. For all people here do for getting your hopes up only to be dashed again in a week when they 'correct' their error.

Skoda Leicester - as in the one that used to be Farmers Skoda?

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - they managed to massively overtension the cam belt on my PD140 Octy II. Good job I decided to change the cam belt very very early when I bought the car as it could have gone at any time.

Oh, and the sales person over promised and under delivered then had magically disappeared 2 weeks later.
