Anyone know from what build week the 2015 model will be produced? Any known changes?

No but, if you order a vRS TDI Estate this week its guaranteed to be a 2015 model.

  • I still don't understand what's so complex and unintuitive about 'SET' and 'RESUME' for the cruise control.

Sorry does anyone actually think their SWMBO is gonna make sure they leave the flat bottom at the bottom when finishing what they call parking ? Its an Fn achievement if mine manages to park withou

Probably around June-July time....

Week 22 is the normal change over in model year. The dealers will get a list of changes - which we've seen by hook or crook in previous years...!

I'm ordering my next VRS at the end of the month for collection from the dealer on December 13th no confidence what so ever that it will happen.

It's always week 22 across all of VAG. My dealer will be sending me the list of changes when they get them so I will post it up here in due course.

Does that mean if you ordered recently and your car is built after week 22 then it will potentially have a different spec to when you ordered it?

Yes, usually very slightly improved.

What if they bring back some of the options such as Front Assist / ACC... would you be able to add those on? I was kinda dissapointed when I realised they'd been dropped off the options, but ordered anyway because I much preferred the Octavia to the Golf Estate which had them.

No, it'll be too late unless your order is a few months from being built.

With that kind of time you should be able to change the spec.

I have no idea when mine will be built yet, only ordered at the weekend. I was told to expect 12 - 16 weeks which puts it around week 24 - 28

If Front Assist/ACC and the flat bottom steering wheel seen at Geneva become available I will be delaying my order to get both options. I have ACC on my current car and I know I'm going to miss it on the Octy.

  • 1 month later...

Anybody got news on this, dates and the new equipment / changes that will be available?

I've heard cruise as standard on the octy vrs but it's only a rumour and not confirmed

That would be sensible. It seems a very mean omission from the standard kit.

If the MY15 cars do have cruise as standard, what happens to those of us who have recently ordered with cruise as a cost option, but should actually receive MY15 cars later in the year due to the lead times...?

Do we get the cost of the cruise control back, or do we just get stiffed on this?

If any optional extra becomes standard kit, and if the list price is not hiked accordingly, you will be entitled to a refund. You'll probably have to ask for it though.

I doubt the specs will change much if at all. Might be some subtle changes such as introduction of the (rather pointless but seems to have bothered a few) vRS button, squared off wheel etc.

I cant imagine they'll throw more standard specs at the cars if they are already experiencing parts delays on spec'd factory orders but you never know.

I'd be a bit peeved if the COD/ACT 1.4 became available for MY15 - mine should arrive just before the MY15 start :(  Would save a few pennies on the tax bill..

Nah, Skoda will keep the 140ps model without COD no doubt, highly unlikely Skoda will adopt that tech. Wouldnt worry about it myself.

Got a call from my dealer today. Preliminary build week 23. He told me that would be the 2015 model, since the 2014 model's last build week is 22. He hadn't heard of any changes to the new model or equipment (Swedish), but promised to call back if there was. Ordered a VRS TSI DSG Estate in december.

Ah nuts..  Mine is due for delivery 12th June (wk 24), so highly unlikely it'll be a MY15 car.    Not that I've any clue what any differences might be :D

Interestingly outside of the UK other EU markets can get non-Greentec vehicles....seemingly without stop-start and other eco bits and bobs. 2.0 TDi's CO2 goes up from 110 to 119 (as a manual) and if the figures are to be believed its slightly slower too

My dealer mentioned to me that this was to become standard kit on the VRS so I wouldn't have to pay for it as an option not sure on the other changes
