Hi jim, it's a a pig of a job changing the fuel filter, really fiddly.

Just a afterthought: If you got service history with car, check back through it and see if filter has been done before, (filter is suppost to last for 40,000 miles) Might save you a really awkward job, can normally tell if it's been done, because the hose clips have been changed to screw type.

I did mine while I was changing the exhaust back box. Fair play to anyone who does it with the exhaust in place.

Now you mention it, the exhaust mounting rubber on the right of picture was only half holding, so I had an extra 3-4 inches to room to play with

When changing the filter, it might help to remove it, 2 circlips top and bottom and it slips off.

Not Sure If I Should Replace It Or Not. I Bought The Car A Few Days Ago And It Had Been Sitting For About 3 Months With Low Fuel And It Started And Ran Fine, But I Wasn't Sure If I Should Replace The Filter Because The Old Fuel And Probably Bits Of Crap In The Tank Had Been Through It And Might Clog Up The Fuel Lines/Injectors.

Do You Think It's Worth Replacing It Or Just Filling It Up Full Of Petrol And Running It Through?
Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

The whole "bits of crap in the tank" thing is an urban myth, if the tank was full of rubbish it would be too late to save it, my 1.8T powered car still has the original filter it left the factory with..

put some fresh petrol in and turn it on I say.

Thanks For The Help. I Siphoned Out The Remaining Petrol And Put A Full Tank Of Petrol In It And Ran The Car For An Hour. Will Put New Spark Plugs In As Well And That Should Make Sure It Doesn't Die On Me
