We are now coming in the car and camping.

 

We are going down to Cornwall in the motor home a couple of days after this and it's just a bit too much as it's pretty tough to drive and slow etc.

 

I will email the campsite and let them know.

Going in the car would be a good idea especially for the guided road tour. Those camper vans are hellishly slow!

Hahaha!... 2.5 tonnes with 72 bhp... I would need to get a few hours head start!

 

But yeah will be nice to go on the drive in the car.

Yes, I started open water swimming last year, I did the great north swim a couple of weeks back

I really enjoyed the last Cumbrian weekend I went on, and since it doesn't clash with anything (unlike Blyton) Can I join you lot?

 

I'm guessing some driving will be involved, so are the routes sorted yet, and more importantly what sort of time are we all meeting up?

Shame I'm likely to be still suffering with nerve trouble with the neck or I'd bring the new frankenfabia with me and a tent.

There's always next time, I'm due a catch up with you all!

we will be doing these in the afternoon, so lazy mornings BBQ breakfast, then drive , then back for beers and mor BBQ (dinner this time!)

Well the good news is this afternoon I've found where I put my tent from 2 years ago when I last used it. I really hope the weather is fine over the weekend as I've no idea how waterproof this old tent is. I did wonder about spraying waterproofing on it (nikwax) but I'll take the risk.

Yes indeed Jim the drives start from the canpsite. It was just a little easier to map it like that .

I'll be aiming to get to Dale Bottom Friday afternoon.

To encourage other Friday-nighters, I'll provide everyone who arrives between 6 pm and 8 pm on Friday with a free hot dog from the BBQ.
