skoda fabia estate false boot floor

Featured Replies

hi guys, pretty new here but just asking around as cant see any other threads on this topic. does anyone have the raised false boot floor in the back of there fabia estates. ive looked everywhere and keep finding only Octavia ones appearing, yet found on car reviews and also skoda website it is available but in two parts and quite extortionately priced.

any help or guidance much appreciated!

I havent seen this before to be honest mate.

What purpose does it serve? Do you have a link?

Cheers.

Never seen one either,  & as above, what purpose does it serve?

ive only ever seen one on a hatch in the showroom, however i dont think the extra cost (£200-300?) is worth not having to slightly bend down to pick something off the boot floor...

Oh. So it brings the boot floor up to the level of the opening?

What goes underneath it the ? Nothingness?

Im still confused on the matter haha

Ahh. I like it. I guess it has its uses for certain people then.

£300 is nothing for a drug dealer is it ;) haa.

our 2010 polo has a false floor, only raises it a couple of inches!

Mine has it. Wouldn't bother, but it came with the car. I use it to hide my laptop in. Was quite handy at Christmas for keep the wife's pressie out of sight.

hi guys, certainly not a drug dealer, nor an assassin, its mainly for the missus complaining our pooch cant see out of the boot. DONT ASK! any other suggestions of what should I be putting into my car?

Hmm they all deny it though... Hahs ;).

Hmm theres lots of little things you could do, it depends whats useful to you.

Arm rest, sunglasses holder, theres alsorts

ha, already have sunglass holder, armrest, cruise control, drls, heated mirrors (once I figure out how to work them, roof rails, thule roof box, bike roof rack (soon), sounding old for a 27yr old, but im liking certain things, wondering what anyone reckons to wind deflectors (minus the metal clamps) or anything else? it is only a standard fabia 1.6 tdi (105) elegance combi spec 2011.

Just twist the dial 180 degrees for heated mirrors mate. I think it times out after 20 mins if you forget to turn them off.

Hmm sounds like your pretty well specced up haha.

A lot love the wind deflectors. I fitted them and took them off the next day. I didnt rate them.

Theyre in a box downstairs, i havent touched them since haha

ive looked into getting some monte carlo foglights in the black and swapping them and possibly the headlights too but unsure, anything else anyone could suggest?

The black pack lights? They look nice, but many are very disappointed on their output

that's where im on the fence, looked at the cheap hid kits of ebay for £35 I know its cheap but not worried, really, unsure if just buying better bulbs would make abig difference and save a lot more time!

Hmm. Hid's are definitely a lot better.

Iv got a kit from hids direct in mine. £58 and iv never bad a problem so far. Had them in about 6 months or so

55w HID bulbs in 4000 to 5000k is ideal, 6000k is too blue for my liking

How long have you had them in mate? Had any problems with the extra heat output of the 55w hids?

I dont know how it compares to the heat output of a halogen bulb tbh.

I agree that 5000k is best. Iv got a 35w kit in at the moment

I was looking at a 5k, 35W, H7 kit for my driving lights, maybe even H7R just to be extra safe!

until i realised that theyre supposedly not MOT Legal anymore.. when did that happen?!

Anyway, i was thinking, if i get a HID kit which isnt too blue, aligned correctly, (thats why im thinking H7R) may i get away with it come around to MOT time?

never fitted one of these before, but if you can just whip it off and back on again in an hour i may well just go for it.

what kits has everybody bought? Links please :)

The h7r bulbs are designed to make them a little better in a reflector housing. You dont need these in a projector housing, as the projector gives a much cleaner cut off point.

The mot is a grey area it seems. Some say it needs to have self levelling and headlight washers, however if you read it properly, it says that if the levellers and washers are fitted, they must be working.

You shouldnt have any problems, its only a 15 minute job to swap them back if needs be anyway.

hey thanks for your reply! Im aware the H7R bulbs are designed for reflector housings, i was just thinking if im going to do it i may as well try and get the cut as good as i can. if H7R bulbs arent needed i wont bother and ill buy H7's instead :)

thats what i mean, it says if they are fitted they must be working, yet i have been reading stuff from evo forums where some guys who have HIDs fitted as standard have been failing because they were never ever fitted with self leveling and washers.

i think i will go for it, whats 15 minutes out of 365 days?!

what HID's would you suggest?

I'm not sure whst effects a h7r bulb would have in a projector lense mate. I dont think it would help though, it might cause you problems. Its already a very clean cut off :).

Hmm its tough to say if it would pass or not. Have evo's got projector lights? Some do some dont? If theyve got reflectors it could fail because of incorrect beam pattern. Which tbf, i hate, as it is dazzling.

Go for it mate. :). You wont regret it.

I got mine from hids direct about 6 months ago and havent had a problem yet :).

RE EVOS: they came with projectors, as standard fitted with HID's, but no self leveling or washers ever fitted to this generation.

im looking online now at them, i have came across a cheap as hell kit for £35,

Im torn, do i go 55W or 35W, cheap or decent?

or HID direct

Oh right. Thats no good. A little letter to mitsubishi is it then? Haha.

Iv got 35w but am tempted to upgrade to the 55w. Im just unsure if the extra heat will be a problem. You do get more light output off a 35w hid than any 55w halogen though. Imo.

Hmm. Get what you pay for i guess. My mate got some cheap and the ballasts failed to start in no time, but then others have had no problems.

I just wanted to fit and forget really, and the hids direct kits are only £58, with a 2 year warranty. Fingers crossed, iv not had to mess with them yet.
