Automatic closing in rain

Featured Replies

There is some criteria that has to be met before the rain closing actually activates. From another forum...

The windows only close automatically when:(1) You've enabled the feature in VCDS and in the car menu(2) The car is off(3) The doors are locked(4) The wiper stalk is in the Automatic position(5) The Rain/Light Sensor (RLS) detects rain OR if x hours pass with no rain or no-one interacts with the car. Usually this occurs overnight in my experience.

I figure there maybe a sequence for it to work (I notice a set number of conditions mentioned in manual for DRL set in Auto mode...i.e where it appears to be getting dips to come on too early....but maybe related to wiper settings)

I've coded three or four O3 successfully with VCP. Rainclosing could not be coded with VCDS (at the moment)  and as far as i know not with VAS but maybe with ODIS.

Yep, even on the 14.5 beta VCDS can't code the RLFS.

Works fine with VCP :)

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

What is VCP? I guess another VCDS type system?

Yes. VCDS is an USA Produkt and VCP-Pro is Poland. ( The producer knows a lot of VAG... ). In the Moment he is working on the new Passat Modules (Superb) to implimate in VCP Pro

Hi Andy.

Nothing is needed. You only have to check if :

(10)-Zugangskontrolle 2-SAD Richtung Komfortoeffnen,tilting
(11)-Zugangskontrolle 2-SAD Komfort schliessen,nicht aktiv
(12)-Zugangskontrolle 2-SAD Komfort oeffnen,nicht aktiv
(15)-Zugangskontrolle 2-Regenschliessen_ein_aus,aktiv
(16)-Zugangskontrolle 2-Regenschliessen_art,Permanent
(2cool.gif-Zugangskontrolle 2-Menuesteuerung Regenschliessen,aktiv

11 + 12 has to be active.

at 10 you can change from tilting to complete openening

To work closing in the rain you need to replace the sensor.

RLHS is 5Q0955547A not closing in the rain

RLFS in 5Q0955547 without A closing in the rain

Old thread, I know.

I have a 2020 Octavia Scout (one of the last of the MkIII, manufactured April 2020).

It definitely has a rain sensor, because it automatically operates the windshield wipers.

In OBDEleven in Central Electrics the RLHS subsystem has part number 5Q0955547C.

In the five years ago commentary quoted below we see a distinction between 5Q0955547 and 5Q0955547A.

Would someone please comment if the 5Q0955547C part supports rain closing?

thanks,

Jay

I did not know rain-closing was a possible option.

That is really cool!

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I believe I'm in the same boat as you
Cheers!

Nope, nothing. And I completely forgot to ask the dealer about it when I took my car in for a pre-long-drive quick once-over.
