Car Park Dings

Featured Replies

Last week when I washed my Octavia I noticed a small ding on the rear n/s mudguard. Looks like someone opened their door on to the car. That was a very small ding, one I was just about to shrug off as one of those annoying things.

Then today I wash the car again and what do I find...

Some b$£~#£rd has made a really good job of scraping the rear door and the edge of the wheel arch, just where the plastic protector is applied.

As you may imagine I'm not happy, if I had done it myself would be bad enough..

Can anyone here recommend someone in the Chesterfield area who could repair this? Any idea of the likely cost?

Trouble is with my current luck if/when I have it repaired no doubt some scumbag will do the same thing the next week!

Don't know about in chesterfield, but in Mansfield there is a company called paintchip technique and they are very good and aren't excessively priced. They have done a few job for me on various cars and paint finishes, and never had a problem.

There's a guy off hermitage lane in mansfield too just next to screwfix. He is on the Detailing World forum and does these sorts of repairs.

I had a stone chip done by the place that the previous poster mentioned and had no issues. I didn't think they did dents though.

I'd vouch for paint chip techniques. They did a wheel arch repair & a wheel refurbished for a past car of mine.

I've used Dent Wizard a few times in the past.  Always done me proud.  It should be fairly simple for them to blend in the bit where the paint is damaged.

If it's not too deep a scratch have a (gentle) go with T Cut -

Thank for the recommendations, Mansfield isn't too far from here so I'll give the paintchip guy a call.

Don't think T Cut would work though, a dent rather than a scratch...
