I did climb one small hill - the Pap of Glencoe - on almost the last day - it was p*ssing down most of the time, and Mrs C is not a big walker. In those conditions I didn't want to venture out on Scotland's big hills alone, unguided and being as I was equipped only with 50k maps. Another time ... plus I am getting old, it has to be said - I still ache from my relatively modest exertion
