Orange warning light for cruise control

Featured Replies

Anyone had this? It's intermittent and engine on/off is a temp fix but not an option when wanting to use it when in motion. Light is a steering wheel and an exclamation mark under the maxi dot.

Phoned the dealer and told to phone tomorrow and speak to service dept to see when they can look at it.

Also re courtesy cars do they have to provide them? They said its a 3 week waiting list but 'we won't leave you stranded', what ever that means.

We go to newquay soon (360 mile one way) and I want to use the cruise control so I hope it's a quick fix.

New stalk needed, or a software update - one or the other.

They don't have to provide a courtesy car - try another dealer as a 3 week wait is a joke.

Oh dear. Was hoping it would be a simple job. Although software could be plug and play maybe?

That' seems harsh but yeah might try another dealer and see what their timescales are.

Thanks

A few people have had CC errors recently and a new stalk has solved a lot of them, but the ones where CC turns off randomly have been software related.

My dealer normally has a courtesy car available within 3 days, a week at the most.

I have it too. It will become a more common sight. Mine hardly ever works now. It sounds like they've been using cheap and nasty indicator stalks. Mine is being replaced tomorrow. The job and software update is around 3 hours they reckon.

If you just need to get to work, they may be able to drop you off and pick you up quicker than waiting for a courtesy car because Andyvee is right, 3 weeks is a joke.

It's nothing new, my Octy II ended up having both the indicator and washer stalk replaced for the later revisions. It seems to be luck of the draw - they either work forever or fail fairly quickly.

Booked in, earliest they could do was 22nd, this is with a courtesy car (either a citigo or a rapid space back). £10 insurance waver for 1-5 days cover. Not too bad.

Got mine completed today. It was with the dealer for the full day. Not sure if it's Skoda policy or just my dealer but for repairs under warranty courtesy cars are free, so too the insurance. For out of warranty repairs or servicing a waiver is charged.  Not all staff seemed aware of that as the person who booked me in on the phone reminded me that it would be payable.

My dealer doesn't charge for courtesy cars at all, warranty or service work. :)

Sounds good to me. I had a fabia scout for the day. It was ok, surprisingly roomy. It also had the shiny bit on the key fob and the cruise/indicator stalk was better in my opinion. Not much difference on the face of it but the cruise button had pimples for set and resume which I think felt much better. They gave added certainty to a ham fisted driver like myself that I was pressing the right button.

The pimples will be Braille for visually impaired drivers

Do all pedestrians have to wear braille overcoats so that they can tell who they have just run over?

In my original post I was going to use the word nipples which would have been so much better for subsequent posters.

I actually typed nipple in the first fraft but decided to tweak it.
