Is anyone up for rallying the Monte Carlo Fabs in the UK and running a convoy to Monte Carlo then maybe camping en route and/or on the way home. Something like a long weekend? It would be a great little event

Ah great news. I'd be happy to put together some ideas. Maybe try for the end of the hot weather and avoiding busy holiday periods. I'll give it a day or two for any more interest and then can get the ball rolling :-) would be a chance for grwat photo opps on the french countryside and also over that huuggggeee bridge in the south of france. Exciting

Its a long way. I did it in my fabia a few year back. Think you would need longer then a long weekend. I did do some de tours but i did 3200 miles in 7 days.

It's a comfortable 2-days there and 2-days back make sure that you take in a circuit of the Gorges du Verdon and return via, the Milau Viaduct

I would also like to join in. But can I offer some avice:-

Having had a "timeshare" (first week in November) a few miles down the road from Nice, for over 15 years. I know the area very well. Monte Carlo is a very special place - see how the other half live!!

But it's over 600 miles once you cross the channel, so it will take 2 days both ways. Plus the tolls will cost the best part of £100. Plus the cost of petrol/derv, food and accommodation. Plus you need to go outside the holiday season. As a matter of interest, even in November you can get over 20c - but you may have to drive though snow on the way!!

I have not driven down there for a number years due the costs. I now fly and hire a car.

Also I drive to France over 10 times a year to our property in Normandy. Driving in France is a far more enjoyable, than driving in the UK, French drivers are far more better motorway drivers than us. But DON'T go over the speed limit, there are a LOT of police with speed guns on the Autoroutes. If you are stopped for speeding they take you licence away, so you can no longer legally drive, unless you have another driver!!
