Trim refresh (pics)

Recommended Posts

On my list of things to do on the cheapo. Tried some Meguiar gel - works for a few days but goes back to fade pretty quick. Don't have a heat gun as heard that can work but not going to buy. But had some black paint in the shed and thought f&*% it I'll give that a go.

Pretty good results I think.

That looks surprisingly good...hope it doesn't flake....most of the trim gels etc don't work on faded items, shoe polish works great...the liquid ones are best... And lasts for several washes, my old mk3 golf gti had really faded, after a couple of applications of cherry blossom, they looked like new!

Great idea buddy,  but as mentioned any tap and that paint is likely to flake off meaning touch ups needed , then you start getting uneven layers.

I ended up getting mine sprayed same colour as car.

ive heard peanut butter is good and baby oil to bring them back up

I have heard this aswell. use the chunky peanut butter as there is more oils in it and leave it on for about half hour to soak in.

make sure your neighbours are watching cos they will think you are mental :)

I'm intending on colour coding mine - have the rattle cans, just have to make time to remove and do them.

Will be priming and clear coating too to put proper finish them.
