Can anyone helpI have just installed updated my amundsen sat nav from 0036 to 0040,and all the road numbers and street names have disappeared !

Are you on a Mac? I have had the sans problem and ultimately the dealer had to order a new card as I wouldn't the issue go.

I haven't actually been successful myself but other people are and the only difference I've seen is the ones who are able to get it working aren't on Macs. I think it's down the the invisible meta data files that the Mac leaves on there like .ds_store. You don't see them but they're there and I can't help but think that this is the culprit.

Thanks for the info I have installed the old version back on my sat nav for now, will try later to download on to a windows laptop cheers.

Yep, doing it on a Mac is not a good idea - you need to remove all the spurious crap the Apple OS adds to the card.

Yes your right mac is no good for this download I have re downloaded onto a windows computer, and reinstalled the sd card worked great thanks for all your help!

Holy thread resurrection!

 

just picked up my Octy, and the maps are well out of date.i assume this is as easy as it looks?! Tempted to give it a go tonight 

Fairly easy if you know one end of a PC from another :)
