So....... Tried plugging it in & getting light cleared?

That's just seat airbag is it ? Owner had different seats and changed them back but not plugged in the seat airbag connection, or maybe the standard seats just don't have them ?

I didn't think the fabias came with seat airbags?

I was thinking that as well!

Actually that looks a little like the plug for the passenger airbag, so I'd be removing the glovebox and seeing if something has been messed with up there.

Isn't that the rear footwell?? That plug must plug to somewhere in the seat.

Appears to be a loose loom to me, not attached to anything at either end. :)

Looks to me as though it's coming through a hole in the carpet. Must plug into the seat somewhere. In the Haynes manual, the instructions for removing the front seat mention wires for seat heating, side airbag and seat belt buckle signalling.

It will be the plug for under the seat for the seatbelt pretensioner

As its unplugged the airbag system is inoperative

It will be the plug for under the seat for the seatbelt pretensioner

Nah, the seat belt pretensioners are built into the belt reels.

I reckon it's a side airbag cable. I've noticed the connectors always seem to be yellow and pink.

You can actually buy a universal resistor cable which mimics the presence of an air bag if someone has fitted seats with no airbags. http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/recaro-airbag-resistor-kit/prod_3950.html

Mine had seat airbags.

They were an option but not standard.

Well whatever it is i can bet that it plugs into the base of the seat

Be it seat belt warning or whatever

The picture has been taken from the rear seats, and IMO, looks like the wiring for heated seats (but I'm probably wrong :p ) Have you got the heat adjuster just above the stereo on the far right and left of the buttons such as the rear window heater and ASR buttons?

You checked for any un-registered heavy prangs?

Yes the pics from the rear footwell I can't seem to find anything under the seat to plug them into… and the car did have black and silver leathers in at some point but somebody decided to sell them on I'm guessing they might have been heated and air bag seats… it's a sunroof model so guessing it had the grate seats…

I was hoping someone would know where they are ment to plug into…?

No plugs/wiring on standard seats at all, so no it doesn't :)

I have read the same in the Haynes Manual

if it isn't air bags, and the seats are not heated, wouldn't that lead you to think it could be the seatbelt sensor?

no seat belt sensor on a VRS for deffo.

not sure on other models.

try driving with no seatbelt on, no alarm ;)

Previous fitted standard seats had side airbags is my bet, and now you haven't got any it seems.

The warning light doesn't know that though and will remain on until you can get someone to re-set it somehow.

Just my guess anyway.

If its a yellow plug is for side airbags, if its green it's for seat heating. As above prevoius seats must have had side airbags (factory fitted option).

Whether the side airbag option can be coded out using VCDS?

Surely, yes?

Is that cable in the picture showing it disappear under the carpet directly in front of where the seat should be btw?

Is there a cable in both footwells?

Not sure on the Fabia but lots of cars have all the looms for extras fitted as standard, then if the extras are added they just plug straight in ;)

Cables/wiring are usually only there if the extra is actually fitted iirc.

The socket that they plug into is usually there regardless though, granted

Have you got dials like this one?

If I turn my car on without putting on my seatbelt it flashes that symbol at me. Must have a sensor somewhere
