Removing front badge.

Featured Replies

Hi, how do you remove the front Skoda badge, is it just bolted on or glued.

It's glued on, go careful and once you ease an edge up she will come off no probs.

Thanks.

It's stuck on with adhesive foam tape, not glue.

The front Fabia vRS badges i have removed were glued on.

Then i tidied up the plastic on the grill carefully with a blade.

I was going to start a thread about this. I want to update the skoda badges with the new ones. I've noticed on eBay that you can buy 'sticker' badges for front/rear badge and also for wheel centre. Anybody tried the stickers or best with a solid badge?

Do you mean the Bonnet Badge, replaced with a new Black & Silver,

that is easy enough to just buy a new Badge.

(there are loads of Briskoda threads on doing that)

You can remove the vRS badge and replace with another Skoda OEM badge, a Greenline one or such.

Hi mate. Sorry yea the new black and silver ones. Might just go with a new badge then rather than messing around with stickers.

Why would you replace a vrs badge, with a greeenline one?  Top of the range, sports car for low emissions, eco friendly, snail on wheels?  Thats like removing lexus badges and replacing them with toyota ones!

No idea, but a member here did. Just a good sense of humour maybe.

Some put on 16" wheels, debadge and like to know the car goes well,

but not shout about it like the ones that are Sheep in Wolves clothing.

I like to Debadge, its each to their own.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but does easing the side up work on both the front and rear badges? This is on a pre-FL mk2 estate.

I'm concerned as other posts regarding removing badges say that there are locator pins which involve drilling?  :envy:

And, would these part numbers be a correct fitment for the pre-FL?:

Bonnet: 5J0853621AUL

Tailgate: 5J0853621AAUL

Not sure about that but I used a hair dryer to hear mine up and they came off a lot easier..... Just have heated the glue.. GLWTS

The same thing has been posted and pinned in the mk2 Octy section so it should be the same process to get them off. I checked the locator pins on the front and mine had been melted over but a steady use a stanley knife from inside the bonnet soon removed the melted over bits.Use some gaffa tape around the badge to protect the paint and heat the badge up with a hairdryer from the outside to soften the glue. Once its nice and warm it'll easily come off. I got a set of nylon trim removal tools off ebay for about a fiver.

I've bought front and rear badges and centre cap badges and I'm at a loss. Centre caps fine, front and tears won't budge after much prying with screwdrivers, jiggling with fishing wire etc. An hour later and shredded hand i gave up and they haven't budged

Have you used the hair dryer on it super turbo??
