Xenon left hand dipped headlight warning

Featured Replies

Xenon left hand dipped headlight warning - keep getting this warning.  Took it into skoda and they said a fault had appeared on the right rear but nothing on the front.  They then blamed it on the fact that it could be aftermarket towbar - which was actually fitted by Skoda in Swindon and said i needed to speak to them.  Driving home tonight i'm getting the same bloody warning.  Is this the same bug that everyone else seems to have.  Should it be registering on their computer system?

Sounds exactly the same as other people have had, the dealer should be able to find it on there system.

I had 'check right dipped headlight' warning a few times. Dealer saw it logged, replaced some parts and have had no probs since

My advice to people with spurious errors is take photos of the error messages on the Maxidot and Infotainment, as well as a video showing the failed light etc. (if it has failed).

Then they can't deny it ever happened, plus the photos and videos are timestamped and show the date and mileage from the cluster.

I did this with my start stop error, and the times I had taken the photos coincided with random fault codes being logged, so there was no wriggle room. You can email them to the dealer if necessary.

Obviously, don't do this whilst driving :)

Interesting - I've had this a few times on the long-termer, too. Report up later this week!

Has anyone got any idea what it was causing it in the end? As mine has just started doing it, and it would appear its the drivers side light going off randomly, mainly on long trips but doesn't seem to log anything long term. However as I'm out of warranty now I don't really fancy their prices just to even put it on a diagnostic without finding anything. It only seems to go  off for a few seconds at a time and never long enough of me to get a picture of it, or try wiggling any connectors to fix it.

On our black one (2013 2.0 TDI) one xenon died. Replaced under warranty, no problems since.

Symptoms were similar as described above, going off periodically, but more frequent until it died at the end.

Did they replace the bulb, or the whole unit?
