Movie downloads

Featured Replies

Netflix and Amazon Prime seem to work on a streaming basis only. Not much use as I frequently travel to areas with slow internet connection and/or stay in hotels were there is no wifi in the rooms.

Is there anywhere that i can download movies onto my laptop so that i can watch them when and where i please.

(Cough)(cough) torrent (cough)(cough)

No.

If you could download them them you would essentially be getting blockbuster films for 'free' as many people would not delete them after viewing.

And I'm sure FACT would have something to say about the subject.

Not expecting them for free. Is there a difference between buying a DVD ( to view as often as I like) and paying for a download?

I can buy music downloads so why not movies - seems odd to me

I believe iTunes offers this when you buy rather than rent a film.

Otherwise I don't think there is a legal way...

BBC iPlayer will let you download items and watch them later, but not everything and they are only available to play offline for a short time

With fibre connections about, perhaps this is a gap in the market that will be exploited soon; I know I can download the latest GoT episode (in HD), in less time than it takes for the credits to roll.

When you rent films via iTunes it downloads then automatically deletes after 28 days or 48 hours after you've watched it.

Can't see why Netflix can't do the same.

Discovered movies can be downloaded from Google Play but can only be watched on and Android or iOS device - want to watch on a Windae's laptop!

Just buy a small self powered USB one from ebuyer or similar, you can get them for less than a tenner.

No need to rip then, will just carry the drive with me.

Still think there is a gap in the market here tho'

I see where you're c omeing from Slider, but with streaming you're only renting.

I have bought a number of films through iTunes and have copied these films to an external hard drive and I plan to take this drive down to a holiday home and plan to connect to to a TV with a USB socked so I can watch the films for my own enjoyment down there as well if I so fancy.

:)

A lot of DVD's nowadays come with an Ultraviolet code which will allow you to legally download said film, if that helps at all?

Blinkbox lets you download films to rent.

If you can get it to work - I got a code with the first Hobbit DVD and still not been able to make it work!

This site claims to offer movie downloads legally. No idea if it is genuinely legal, perhaps someone else can tell?
