Yes I know, my only worries was it's size but it ended up quite neat and the colour is always changeable ;D

Well I must say there is a bit of a wind noise, but not much, it sounds more like you are in aircraft then in a Superb , the only thing is my sunroof is completely useless, I cannot even open a bit, so it's going to be closed for a little while

I'm glad you posted that - is it the Whispbars that make the roofbox too low to use the roof or is it because the bars go through the inside of the roofbox and it just sits lower? I was hoping to get some Whispbars but my old box is the typical type that simply sits on top of the bars so wouldnt be quite as low as that. I'm hoping that means I could still open the roof?

the only thing is my sunroof is completely useless, I cannot even open a bit, so it's going to be closed for a little while

 

is it the Whispbars that make the sunroof useless or the low profile box? thinking of getting these bars but wont if the roof wont work!

You have the Whispbar s44 on Your Superb. I am also looking to buy the same rails, but on the official Whispbar website they recommend the S54.

Now i am not sure what model to buy  Does anyone else have the S54?

I'm all for customising roof boxes, as you know, but what on EARTH have you done to yours?!? Is that a landing strip?!?

Glad you had a good trip. Is that loaded up with beer and wine in the boot?

Are they lights on your roof box or just reflectors and is that a sat nav on your windscreen or the biggest fone in the world. Does a sat nav not come standard in that model.

I did check and S54 was the correct one for the superb estate at the time (since changed to S44?) can anyone advise on this? There are 2 small stickers on the underside of each of the bars each showing 2F2 if that helps?

You need two S44 bars for the superb combi. The advice I was given at the time was that those were the minimum width bars from the manufacturer for safe load carrying - so perhaps if you can shoe-horn your S54 bars on, then that would be ok?

Cheers for that. Strange though when I was looking at the Whispbar site before I bought them they were showing S54 as the correct one's for the combi? They will fit, just, but would have liked a bit more flexibility for adjusting on the rails.

Hi, though I need to update my post with some photos, so what happened

Had the car lowered with some lowering springs, looked awesome, drove well, sadly it wasn't for me, not for London driving

I am looking at Suberb estates at the moment coming from a Volvo V70 D5 AWD. I had similar issues when I bought the V70 with the spare wheel. I changed the V70 space saver for a proper spare and did the same on my wife's Nissan Note last year. In the V70 which has 225/45-17 I put a 16" wheel with 215/55-16 tyres. I only went for 16" as I was going to get winter wheels and tyres in 16". The rolling circumference is the same as the other wheels and I had to use it once as I had a blow out at motorway speeds. Handling of the 16" wheel was the same as the larger 17" wheels.
