Amundsen system

Featured Replies

Hi been a while sine I have posted on here, to go along with my own Octavia I will be getting a new company car this being a Yeti 2wd, with the Amundsen DAB, SATNAV and Bluetooth, I have been through the Skoda website and can find very little info on the unit.

My questions are,

Is it any good? How do you rate it.

How good is Skoda Satnav?

Any links to a manual for it?

Thanks

Hi, I find the satnav good, got a few niggles, but all in all it seems to work well. It is a little slow to start up and is also slow when inputting routes, also once you have selected a route (Fastest, Direct, Economical) you cannot switch between the options without re-selecting the route again.

Traffic info does seem quite good. I have colour maxidot, and like having the nav info on there rather than just the screen, it's easier to see whilst driving.

I have an Amundsen+ in my 2012 Urban. I find it works well, although the maps are a little out of date. I especially appreciate the way it integrates with the car - parking sensors / phone / maxidot display / multifunction wheel etc.

I use a 64Gb SDXC card in mine (formatted to FAT32) and find the it straight forward and relatively easy to operate. The DAB radio is a bonus and I've found it to work well throughout the country.

The Amundsen+ in our FL 2014 model has bang up to date maps, really quick location fix, very clear 3D display, very clear direction indications in the maxidot display, and has really good sound quality.

All in all, I am very pleased with it.

I did wonder if I should have gone for the Columbus, but as I have MDI and all my music is on my iPhone, I have never regretted it.

Just gone from the amundson+ in the vrs to a Columbus in the yeti!I thought overall the amundson was very good ,easy to use and if the Columbus was not fitted with the car when I got it I would no way have paid the extra......ps had the yeti 5 days and still constantly looking at the operating instructions for the columbus(don't talk about voice control)pps just had a few practice attempts with the park asst ummmmmmmmm also came with the yeti
