Nav always dark and glitch in app

Featured Replies

Over the last week my Nav seems to have stuck in dark mode and I noticed the app hasn’t updated from the car since Wednesday. I’ve tried a system reboot without success and I tried to check for updates using the menu option but the screen says unable to start app updates.

Any suggestions or ideas would be very welcome before I have to spend hours at the dealership.

I had a glitch with my satnav today where the main screen map froze but directions still appeared on screen and in the dash. By fluke it was fixed by using the menu to show map in dash, which was updating correctly and switching back to the main screen which then worked correctly again. I have had the main screen map display switch to dark mode quite big recently due to the dull overcast weather I think.

I think the daylight sensor is just over-sensitive to low light. When I bought mine in June it would switch early evening, in bright sunshine. There is a setting for sensitivity & reducing that helped, but even on it's lowest setting it's been on pretty much all week in the dull weather.

Note that changing the setting doesn't appear to be dynamic, in that it doesn't take immediate effect. You have to change the setting & then it takes effect next time you start the car.

As for the app, could your subscription have expired?

Thanks that’s very helpful - I did wonder about sensitivity as it was fine, I will dig around in the menu to find the setting. 👍

Subscription still live as it expires at end of three year warranty.

Cheers

Just to add, I revisited the setting today as the screen was again dark & headlights on in bright sunshine. I found that it had reset to "medium", so can only guess that the recent software update reset it to default.

Thanks again, mine seems to have reconnected today so that’s a plus and the screen did switch to daytime in bright sun but on,y for a few minutes. Can I ask where is the setting for the screen? I had a quick dig around this morning before going out but didn’t have time enough to find it.

Thank you once again! 🙏

Thanks 🙏 really appreciate that

Funny connection is mentioned, obviously there has been a server issue.

I lost sync, and all network connectivity last week, raised with Skoda tech, who did the standard ' factory reset ', which failed and utterly screwed up the infotainment (hell, why would they log issues and assign a problem, that would be too ITIL).

Anyway, came back online and synced yesterday, after being down for about 4 days or so.
