Actual real pictures of an undisguised fabia III

Quite a few green coloured spectacles around here... That looks like a base model, does it not? The current base model is no looker. Once they rice tart it up with Monte styling or, dare I hope, an RS variant, I'm sure it will look OK. Especially if the styling makes it look wider. As for "estates" looking better.  :x

  • LOL How nothing changes.   My very much tongue in cheek analysis of the Briskoda life cycle of a new Skoda model.   1.  Rumours of the new model are leaked.  Excitement - has anybody seen the pict

  • Sharkrider, hope you feel better soon.   Well that car is a bit of a 'Munter' IMO. Not 'Squat & Emotional', like the CEO of Skoda said, just looks a bit **** and would bring a tear to a glass

  • Mk1 vRS still reigns supreme in the looks department! Or maybe I'm just biased

Choice of wheels and colours can make all the difference.

That one looks like Polo to me!

It is dissapointing still but I think it is a grower. As OzFabia wrote, I'd love to see Monte and more to the point vRS versions!

The mk2 is still too tall and narrow looking in Hatch form.

I've only ever bought estates, which look better due to the longer roofline.

Rubbish! Hatchback is waaay better looking!  B)  :giggle:

Out of interest, what's the story behind these photos? Are they definitely the genuine article?

The front lights and fogs have definitely been Photoshopped from an Octavia.

I'd say the whole thing is a photoshop and not even a genuine car. There is no back door line for starters - are Skoda doing a 3 door model all of a sudden?

looks like the same model with disguise on... right down to indicators in door mirrors..

Looks like a MK1 & Mk2 have mated & this is the offspring shape wise.

I bet this overall is bigger that the MK2, & will be getting close to not fitting in a garage  :x  ( well it will go in the garage , but you can't get in / out of it )

Also looks very much like we are going back to the EUROBOX version of cars we had in the late 80's / 90's ( saving money).

looks like the same model with disguise on... right down to indicators in door mirrors..

I can see this lowered with wider wheel base and nice low profile rubber, obviously in black and with 2.0l turbo petrol power plant

It'd be cheaper to buy an Octy VRS... or two. :D

Ha, if thinking engine transplant then yes, indeed, would be cheaper, and you know what you are talking about! ;)

I was more about vRS coming factory fitted with 2.0l petrol turbo power plant ...

Chance of Skoda fitting what performance fans consider a decent engine...

Yes, love the Mk 3. Looks right in my eyes. Funny but when the Mk 2 came out everyone said it was too upright, too narrow etc etc, but now we've had it for several years everyone loves the Mk 2. Now Skoda gives us what everyone said they wanted in the first place, and now that is too this and too that...but we'll all love it when it arrives that's for sure.

There probably will be at least one person who will buy one in a certain colour, do certain mods to it and make it look quite good. No doubt about that.

My opinion on the Mk2 hasn't changed at all since the first time I seen it, but there are a few on here with a few mods that look quite good

I have calling the Mk2 Fabia FL Replacement the 'Skoda Maybia'.

but i think now it is the 'Skoda Que Sera',  & the possible Combi can be a 'Skoda  Que Sera Sera.

I would not mind at all if they fitted 1.0l turbo with decent hybrid system producing 200bhp - 130 from internal combustion and 70 from a form of KERS system with highly efficient carbon monofilaments batteries (very exciting research surfaced few months ago!). See aslo Merc F1 turbos - so simple an idea, pure genius!! When you look at it you slap your forehad shouting out "this is obvious!! Why didn't I think about it ??!??"

EDIT: BTW, they are not allowed to fit decent motors as Richard would have noting to mod any more!

The Hybrid Small engine & Electric Motors is arriving in Audi A1 & A3's & VW's sometimes quite soon.

& the Engine Factory in Hungary is all geared up for building them.

Skoda is Getting in with this Facelifted again / refreshed & evolved Car before more Emission restrictions late 2015, ('In before the Lock'!)

so a 'choice of 'Much Cheapness' model before full Euro 6 is impossed,

like the VWG are doing with some VW's.

It might be a good thing to have ownership of the last available new Models of Euro 5/6 Emission vehicles IMO.

A Polo with Skoda badges.

Yes, but the 2.0 diesel 140ps is only available in the 3 door. :dull:

Not 5 door or estate.

3 or 5 dr 140 Ibiza's are available, including new.

No estate though, iirc the battery has to be put in the boot of the Ibiza 2.0 so maybe there is no where to put it in the estate without compromising load space?

I don't care what it looks like as long as they put an engine and DSG gearbox in the vRS that doesn't need replacing under warranty every 5,000 miles.

Touche!

I still say WTF when i see a Monte Carlo,  & 'what does that look like all up on stilts'.

(i say that about vRS as well, so i am not Monte Carloist.)

I like Fugly or odd cars, but i thought polishing a Turd was a thing of the past.

But a more Squat Turd might be OK.

The Monte spec we'll definitely see as the A pillar and C pillar have the join for the coloured roof option and it's been a good seller on the Mk 2 FL.

Even Ford have jumped on the Monte bandwagon and brought out a Fiesta with a 140bhp 1.0l Ecoboost engine in either Black with a red roof or Red with a black roof, both with sporty looks like the ST and black multi spoke alloys.

Until we see the official unveiling with all the different models and colour combos then we'll just have to guess, all manufacturers have common looks between their different models so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it looks like a Rapid/Octavia.

Don't forget that Skoda is a the budget, no nonsense brand in the VW stable so this will be reflected in the looks..

We keep being told how good a Seller the Fabia Monte Carlo has been.

But that is not in the UK,  They had to bring out Cheaper & Good Value Techs to get sales Moving.

there are less than 7,000 Fabia Monte Carlos sold, in 3 years, (more than double the vRS in 4 Years)

but last year alone there were 32,000 Fabias First Registered in the UK.

Almost half of all Skodas first registered in the UK in 2013.

So the sellers are not really the 'Sporty Look' ones in the UK., when the RRP is so high.

Dealers are 'asking' £15,500 for new MK2 Fabia Monte Carlo's

That is Fiesta ST type money.

The Skoda CEO said about the Monte Carlos or is quoted as having said

, 'we thought they would sell 3,000, but they produced 20,000'. (paraphrase)

So they sold lots in other countries around the world,

or there are thousands sitting on some disused airstrip some place.
