Polish residue on trim

Featured Replies

Any tips for getting the white polish residue off rubber seals and black plastic trim?

This would be a good one to ask in the styling and car care section.

Depending on the product some quick Detailer may help.

Cheers Jake, got a bottle of that in the boot too.

Dampen a cloth with white spirit, with cloth wrapped around your finger, this should break-down the waxy residue, and remove.

You can then use a rubber/plastic trim protector etc afterwards..

How do yo know it was a white Pole you hit? Might have been Romanian

ChrisRs in the detailing forum recommends a wipe over with IPA and a polish. IPA = Isopropyl Alcohol and not Indian Pale Ale as first thought

IPA and peanut butter.  Time for lunch methinks.

Pencil rubber.

better to use a water based polish like the p1 polish from gtechniq , easier to remove with a damp cloth.

AG Fast Glass does the job nicely

I've just used some AG bumper and trim gel and that worked really well taking all the white off.
