Any one else washing before the sun gets too hot?

I make a point of doing it every day after I've had breakfast even if there's no Yorkshire Meet happening later in the day. ;-)

  • Another great meet, with 20 cars in attendance.   Big thanks to all who came, and the weather was fantastic   Nice to see some new cars in attendance as well   Quick pic of the turnout

  • Great meet, fab weather and good to catch up with most of you on the day.... As i got there a bit late - apologies if i didnt get chance for a chat.   Looking forward to the next one already - Than

  • There's a limited number of 'next to' places for alexmayyyy - and they get booked years in advance.   Ask Alan or Adam if they'd be prepared to swap!

Did mine last night, as the front of the house is in shade then. I'd just got everything ready and had started snowfoaming it when SWMBO rang to get me to pop a lasagne in the oven. Came back out two minutes later to find the pressure washer surrounded in a thick cloud of smoke and making very unhappy noises! Never mind, I'd use my citrus prewash pump sprayer instead - but the lance for that had split and more came out the side than the nozzle! Fortunately next door lent me their pressure washer (a Makita) which has the same pressure hose attachment, so I could just carry on. Cleaned the inside first thing this morning and it was already too hot :(

I'll be heading over in the mighty Ignis today.  It is clean on the outside at the moment but no doubt will be a mass of flies & other stuff from the journey from Scarborough.  It's got to do all sorts of taxi jobs before I leave too, taking kids to the beach, to friends houses and a quick trip to the supermarket.  There's no point in cleaning the inside at all.

I'm going to have to gracefully pull out today... Not very well!

There is a thin line between insanity and genius - I walk that line every day of my life

Any one coming from York way?

I am but not sure what time.  I've got a lot of dad stuff to do first so can't really say when.  I'm currently in between coats of Hammerite and gloss paint, so will have to set off when the next lot of paint has gone on.  This is a wooden garage door & not the car by the way.

I will have my vag com with me if anyone is interested

I'm heading down the A1, then M1, from Wetherby. Presumably you're joining the A1 from the A64? I'll be leaving around 2:15 - driving slowly to avoid too much roadkill on the front!

What with the 50 mph average speed cams, can't go fast anyway

Another good meet big thanks to chris for choosing me as the winner of the show and shine comp :-). Was nice to chat to some new people and the usual familiar faces.

Hope everyone enjoyed todays meeting, I do not pick my Furby VRS up until Monday or I would have come along today....Not been to a Brisky meeting since 2008!

I will keep my eyes peeled for the next meeting whenever that might be.

Cheers Simon

You're in luck Simon!

The next Brisky Meet is in Mansfield the day after you pick up your car. Excuses for non attendance aren't allowed.... ;)

Did no-one fancy fish n chips then? Sat at Whaler till nearly six, not a Skoda in sight?

Made it back to Scarborough without any mashed potato incidents this time.

It was a great gathering and nice to see people again.  As usual the atmosphere was relaxed with everyone made to feel welcome so thanks for arranging it.

Looking forward to the next one,

Cheers,

Andrew.

Damo brought some special weather to the meet as it certainly was scorchio_logo.gif

Also, he seems to have mastered his alignment problems but still needs some more practice when it comes to centralising the stickers!

We must have just missed you mate

We got there just before 6pm... shame you didn't see us all

The convoy up the motorway was a fantastic sight in my rear view mirror as we rounded the bend... a line of various Skoda's

The missus tried to get a picture but the road straightened, so we could only see Adz

Just to let everyone know,  I didn't apply the sticker... (As you very well know John!)

I measured the centre and JIM-VRS applied it slightly off centre to the right

No worries though, as it still looks good

Thanks for organising this meet Damo, as usual good turn out and really nice to see new faces.

Roll on the next one............
