Audio clip editors

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I am a radio enthusiast and, In the early hours of this morning (about 0355hrs BST) I used the voice recorded on my phone to bag an audio sample of the identity signal from RTL Luxembourg. I wish to do some editing to this clip, namely:

- to shorten the clip

- to try and remove the background hiss (I did hold the phone a bit closer to the radio than I thought necessary)

- to shorten the gap between each time the tune is heard on the recording (about 3 seconds gap so 5 runs of the tune in 1min 5secs)

- to convert the file from an m4a type to an mp3 type

Does anyone know a good, easy to use free piece of software that I could use to do all the above?

Thanks,

Dave

Audacity

Same recommendation from me.

Audacity for me too. It has a nice plugin for noise removal too.

+1

I agree.

Audacity

This.

For free, definitely audacity.

Definitely Audacity - powerful but pretty easy to use as well

Has anyone suggested Audacity yet? :giggle:

I was going to suggest it...
