Good stuff, hope you have fun with it!

3m kit did it for me and lovely :) knew it wouldn't be long before another Skoda

Progress!

So getting to london for 6am, then starting work at 6:30, the cylinder head was stripped off from the car by 8, and i was determined to see if i could fix it, low and behold a gentle tap with a nylon mallet and a fine screwdriver (couldnt find my centre punch) and the bleeder popped out 2ft across the floor!!!

:D

So i checked out the threads about 80% was fine just the first few were damaged, i picked some of the debris out, then the replacement plug screwed right in! Happy days!

So not a penny was needed to have it machined or spark erroded or anything! :D I was very lucky with this :)

Got it all back together, had a few faffs and couldnt find the EGR feed pipe (till i realised it was in a different box of parts) then had it all back together, timing belt was even easier 2nd time around!

Had trouble catching straight away as there was a fair bit of brake/carb cleaner in the intake manifold, but after it got it out, it started :D

I also fitted the 312mm Brembo Discs today with Ferrodo 2500 Pads, so should stop nicely now!

All of it was finished by 6pm, so id say that about 10 hours work (ok i had quite a few breaks) i stripped it down, cleaned it again, repaired the head, refitted it and refitted all assorted parts then fitted my new front brakes. Quite busy and i thought was quite quick too for an Amateur Mechaninc!

really pleased with the progress today, unfortunately driving home i became stationary in traffic on the A2, outside lane and a 1 Series BMW decided to test my Citigos brakes. So after the exchange of details, i now need a new/repair'd rear bumper on the Citigo.

So back to the Fabia, work to do is as follows:

Get the car home

Fit RARB

Fit rear coilovers, currently ive only fitted the fronts and it looks like a door wedge! :D

Gutting! Probably cheapest to get an Ecp bumper and get it sprayed! I did one a while back for a Corsa! Worked out cheapest that way!

Didn't bring any coffee over though? :(

I saw two empty cups, they didn't appear by magic. :D

New brakes look good.

Yes they look great!

I really needed the assistance with the aux belt, unusually a PITA as if the belt was too short! Any who it is on but will need swapping soon

Thanks Richard for the tea and sandwiches which meant I was kept going today with: Porridge, tea, banana, water, tea, banana, bacon sandwiches (amazingly good bacon), tea, banana, water, tea, cereal bars.

Anyone would think that im an ape!

Topped up like a well oil

Glad to hear everything is coming together Taylor...Looks like you've had plenty of fun today...!!! I'm guessing you'll bring this vRS to the How Fast Briskoda...?

Given it a test drive yet? :giggle::notme:

Can't wait to see it...!!! What's the best is all work on the car's been done by yourself and I bet you very pleased with what you've achieved so far...!!!

Had the Citigo serviced this morning, as a result i need some new tyres and adjust the rear drums! (i had a service plan but not the service/maintenance deal)

They also inspected the damage and found its superficial, the bumper is pierced but the metal underneath is fine and nothing is bent/distorted

I've seen Taylor's Car in live yesterday and I honestly loved it...!!! It looks great. Good luck with your stuff to do Mate...!!! See you tomorrow on track...:)

I saw him an hour ago and he was still bashing away under there!

Had to drop the clamps to hold the rear ARB off.

Fingers crossed it will be done by 5.00am...;)

Have faith Slotty it will be done!

It will be fun trying to beat the MK1 vRS owners running the 1.9TDIs...Taylor is one of them

He's probably secretly fitting and mapping a 2260VK as we speak :)

It's not about the speed...It's all down to the skills...;)
