cars all back together, i planned on bleeding the brakes with VCDS and activating the ABS pump, but i returned the cable i borrowed yesterday so taht will have to be put off for now.

The suspension is all back together but ive had to packup for now due to the weather. The rear is sitting about 6mm lower than the fronts atm. Which is likely to drop once the rears bed in as the fronts have been on longer anmd have experianced some motorway miles.

Decision time!....

I want OEM Xenons. So do i:

1) sell up and buy on with OEM Xenons already fitted

2) Retro-fit them, which appears to be a PITA.

Thing is it looks like i could sell my Fabia, and buy a different one with similar mileage/condition for less than it would cost me to buy the parts separately and fit them myself.

 I don't think it would even get that far! (On the back of the trailer)

Give me £8000 you can have my SE :)

I'll even take yours in part ex!

Seems a shame to get rid now it's fixed and after all that sweat and ******!

Factory fit xenons? :p

If I was Taylor I'd sell it and buy another.

It's now running right and had a fair amount of parts because Taylor is very critical that everything is done right.

Better to change now and get exactly the spec you want before adding a few mods and then having to swap everything over.

My white one has OEM xenons and I have to say it not only improves the look of the car, it's got more presence at night and is nicer to drive in the dark.

Don't think I'd buy another without them that I was going to drive myself.

Richards bang on the money again!

Yes it is a pain, most of my cars, i buy as recks, spend loads on being very picky and precise, and then sell them shortly after.

Although i love driving, sometimes i think i enjoy the short moment when making the most of a bad situation and the final turn of the key to hear it running :D

the moment this Fabia started (Richard can back me up on this) i had a face like a Cheshire cat lol

Yeah I'd agree with that! Whilst you're still not too bad on money spent I'd trade up to one rather than spending the money on this one when you can get another with xenons for no extra! I know the one about when the turn of the key!

Problem is since Saturday ive been looking at Fiestas... and today the Citigo went in for repair and the Courtesy car? a 14 Plate Fiesta Zetec, think it has the 1.25 Duratec engine (so modern Zetec lump), thing is its really well spec'd for a mid range model, and as i found the saturday the ST-3 is a massively capable car out of the box!

i have to do alot of thinking... ST-3 and get bored of having a reliable car, or a Mk1 Fabia where i will need to spend some money on it, but enjoy the "chase" to get it right?

I can see where you're coming from on that one as from what I've heard and seen the ST is a great setup! I've driven the 1.0l and that felt good but that's as much as they'd let me test drive :giggle: but then what happens to the wanting to tinker! Look out for a cheap copart one :notme: and a St3 too ;)

Touché Richard :)

I want xenons on mine, short of bashing in some aftermarket ones I don't think it's going to happen!

Quite happy with the standard car!

I think you'd regret an ST3 as there is a lack of possibility for working on it! From what I've seen it's literally just buy and drive and have fun no work on it! I couldn't replace my project with one!

Bit more progress on the Fabia. I found the near side was sitting 6mm lower than the other, so i jacked it up and checked the balancing of the rear coils. The Near side was 1 turn higher than the offside. Not a massive difference.

but ive adjusted it and now its sitting level. :)

None the less im going to see a Fabia on monday which has Xenons..... So it might be going soon ;)
