  • This does not appear to be going anywhere productive............... Polite suggestion (to all) - might be worth dropping it and moving on It's a good thread and I am leaning to taking one of these o

Looks good & nice to see they put a decent length of cable on it. Can you get a 5" backing plate? I see it comes with a 6" plate, meaning you need pads which are more than 6"

  • I have some Rupes Pads that will fit anyway...but I bought the package that includes Pads and polish It doesnt vome with abag ..so I bought a Rupes Bag as well

Perhaps it will ....but I was answering a direct question

They sell this lot:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/maxolenuk?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

Yes - i can see the eBay shop; wondering more what the prices can be if you buy DIRECT.

eBay fees are a joke unless you are a real high volume seller.... there might be a little more to save here.  ;)

Anyway - as always, i shall investigate...

Thanks for that link mate! Interesting deal...

Maxolen - they are based in Leeds as i recall.

Might be worth popping in to see what direct price can be had on this.

No eBay fees, package deal and collection too.... win win!

They are great guys, went to one of their open days. That eBay deal is a bargain bearing in mind the polish which comes with it. Let me know how you get on.

I used this today to refine my car door very faint scratch probably caused by a bag? The car park in Nottingham was well tight. So it does weigh more than the v220 but as there is very little vibration so MUCH less tiring to use. Was very much impressed . On my shopping list I think when they have the smaller backing plates.

Thanks for the feedback Alan.... good to hear!

Yes - the smaller backing plate options were one element i was waiting for.

The other delay will be my holiday, then Milltek purchase!

Did you guys get a bag or any extras with your DAS' s

You guys?

Me only..Alan was using mine

No Carl

I had to buy one...a Rupes bag...Holds both the Rotary and the DA

Oh sorry I thought Alan had bought one as well.

Thanks anyway Chris.

I think i will take the plunge and buy one when I get back from waxstock, so long as I'm not tempted into anything else that is.

I did say on my shopping list .

Im less worried about the smaller backing plates..but will buy one when available .........

.........I have my Rupes Rotary with a 3" Flexipad for smaller areas and spot scratch removal

I wonder if a Rupes 5" backing plate will fit?

Noticed that Tim and clean your car are at waxstock, I'd like to think he could do me a deal on one of these. Will see on Sunday.

Ask about the smaller backing plate when you get there please Carl

AND

Does a Rupes backing plate fit?

Thanks

No harm in asking Carl - but at the current price it's a screaming bargain as it is - no question!

Can't imagine there is much more he can drop the price - unless we got a Group Buy in place for example.

But then youd have to be a Freedom member Steve ;)

Of course me old mucker....

Regardless - question still worthy of asking on a Group Buy option for the Forum/Community.

As stated - i think this is the only way Carl will see the price reduced any further.....

The Sonax Profiline polish is the best Ive used...Its even better than my Scholl polish

On backing plate options....

Tim says standard DA backing plates do fit if anyone is pushed for use of smaller pads in the short term.

The official 5" backing plate is on order for stock in approximately 10-14 days time.

The issue with using a standard DA backing plate is that it is heavier and as a result you will have increased vibration during use.

The custom backing plates for the DAS-21E have been lightened to help reduce vibration - which make the machine so appealing.

Alan was blown away with it when he tried it yesterday.

Its a real quality and eye opening piece of kit

It will transform my Detailing in the future!!

You tried the Sonax EX 04-06 polish yet Chris?

Yes...very nice, leaves no oils behind and minimal dust...so no need for a post polish IPA wipe down

Cuts well and holds its cut longer than Scholl

I remember introducing him to a Snow Foam lance and watch his eyes bulge with amazement

....and then there was the DA Polisher and the Pet drier...and.....and....

Yeah you could be right

He tried convincing me that a Digital Thermometer would be useful....that was a fail though!!
