  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

I think 130mph would be closer to the speed he musta been doin

Tom,

Have you read the article in Autoexpress about BMW deciding to introduce 6 new models adopting FWD.

What do think about the 135i going forward  ,will it be replaced with a turbo 2 litre or what?

If so wlll your 135i be a keeper?

Keith I've read the article - worrying times indeed. I've no real issue with FWD on the family-spec variants, just as long as they don't start introducing it on the high-performance cars anytime soon.

It would definitely put me off buying the next gen 1-series as it's the RWD that makes it unique and sets it apart from Audi/VW. I'd imagine as you say 6-cyl power in the next 1er may also be under threat.

Luckily the next gen 1-series is quite a few years off yet - the facelift/LCI isn't due until 2015 let alone an all-new model. I love the M135i so could indeed forsee it being a keeper, although that would be very unusual for me! More likely I'd be looking to swap it for a facelift M135i in 2016-2017 before the 1er gets the FWD treatment ;-)

There's a whole raft of FWD cars coming from BMW :(  1 series,2 series Active Tourer, X1, X2 and Z2 roadster

Sad days.

So get in soon Amanda.

Well I guess you do have a little time left, when you are up for change.

I'm avoiding 'the change' as long a possible :D

Actually, I do have a fall back position. I buy a sensible Qashqai/S-Cross and get a 370Z Nismo for being silly. It would work out cheaper than the M135 and be perfect for my mid life crisis :D

Having said that, I have just had an email from the salesman who sold me my 123D a few years ago. He's the sales manager now :)

So it's big discount or nothing then!!

Then wait for the reaction from now -Mr M

Amanda,

Mid life crisis!

Never, onwards and upwards!

I tried to buy a 330D twice form BMW but ended up with an A4 3.0 tdi and a MB 350CDI as they did much better deals. Hopefully the outgoing 1 series facelift will be sold for fun and they will give me a big discount :D I want about £5K I reckon to make the deal work for me (or I need to find a better job)

Exactly the reason I ordered the A8.

Tried BMW 5 series (which is a model down) and for the spec I wanted it cost more.

Equal 7 series was way more.

Then I chanced across the A8 which worked out cheaper than an A6 as it need far less "speccing up".

Go where the deals are on premium cars IMO.

Yep, that's what I do. Maybe the 330D is a better drivers car than my current 350CDI, but it's not by such a big margin as people might think and the Merc does have other advantages :) Besides an equivalently spec'd 330D would have cost £250 a month more, Crazy. Funnily enough, on a PCP at the moment, a 335D is not much more than a 330D with the current level of discounting.

£5k off should be relatively easy with the M135i. I ended up with £6k off mine no problemo. :-)

oooh now that's getting seriously tempting :)

Dont half job it with a 370. Just get a GTR and spend the rest of time going between a very serous concentrating face when you stick it into a bend and a really big smile as you get on the power n realise you got it just right!

Couldn't afford to run one (20-30K miles a year). So I would run a cheap diesel for jobs that were a long way away or in dodgy areas (I work a lot in dodgy areas :D ). I want something quick, reliable, FUN and if possible RWD, while I still am allowed to run a car that's not powered on muesli

Theyre fantastic machines.

It must i of had a Y pipe? Theyre surprisingly quiet as standard. They need that Y pipe!

Thats a fair shout! Haha.

Have the quashci (can never spell it) for that and gtr as a weekend car?

They arent cheap, but if you arent doing too many miles, they'll blow ya mind on the weekends! Aha.

Turn up to a rough area in one though, and yours pretty much guaranteed to have it nicked arent ya haha.
