Space saver wheel for VRS as dealer accessory

Featured Replies

I know Farsider has had joys with Willis Skoda in getting a option sorted after going to Skoda CEO.

Citygate have advised a technical briefing has gone out to dealers this morning, picking car up later to sort out them supplying a wheel that wouldn't fit and costs etc

Regards

Brian

  • Update from Skoda UK. There is now an aftermarket space saver and foam insert with toolkit available for the VRS. They are finalising the parts in their system but it should be purchasble via dealers

  • its total nonsence for any new car to come without a spare wheel in my opinion

  • I picked up my official aftermarket spare wheel kit for my VRS today. Its identical to the BTO factory option (no surprises there) - wheel, toolkit and foam insert all installed perfectly. Job done. B

Hi sorry but has anyone got the part number for this as my dealer can't find it on the system.

Citygate arranged my swap from 16" Steel wheel for the spacesaver. Get your dealer to ring Glenn at Citygate Watford Service and mention.

Wow, £75 for the factory option is a bigger bargain than I first thought!

Total Cost £242.71

.....Wow

Try those part No with these guys http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk to remove the normal dealership markup. It's who the stealers will actually order these parts from as it's the VAG group Trade arm.

Only issue is, some TPS outlets will deal with customers, others only tradesmen or garages. Haggle as well as I saved even more on other parts just by asking.

Example; headlights for a Superb II, stealers wanted nigh on £400, TPS, £96 a light, totalling £192 for both. It's the same for a servicing kit, filters oil etc, I order it via TPS, collected it all then only paid the dealer his labour costs. £45 for one hours graft? Yes please.

Can't knock them apples, so worth a try.
