OBDII Scanner not powering on-Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI(2008)

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I own a Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI(2008). I recently bought myself an OBDII scanner elm327. So when I plugged it into my OBDII port near fuse box, it didn't power on. I have even tried it with the engine on. Also, I've checked all fuses and even replaced my cigarette lighter fuse with a different one. None of this worked. Anyone got ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I presume it has a power indicator that shows it's got no power at all?

I know with mine I can't connect to it if I do it in the wrong sequence, you're not just having difficulty connecting are you?

It's possible it's just a faulty unit, as for fault finding the port itself I won't be any help I'm afraid aside from suggesting getting a voltmeter out and checking for voltage on the appropriate pins.

Don't look for the fault in your car.

Do you suspect faulty scanner unit too?

For something that costs £5 and probably £1 to manufacture then yes my first suspect would be the ELM.

Thanks for your replies BTW.
