Depends on the dealer/manufacturer. But they all have some kind of certification level they use to call it 'used approved'. It's actually more to protect themselves from issues like you are experiencing (as they are liable), but most use it as an advertising technique to make punters feel more comfortable (not that there is anything wrong with that - it's not underhand marketing in this case (for once!).

If they don't sort it for you FoC, ask them what tests they do to certify it worthy of resale and ask for a copy of the results of the tests they did on yours.

I got a bit fed up with the lack of response from the dealer so emailed the MD of Mazda UK directly and got a response from the head of Customer Relations. Now the dealer are sorting it all out free of charge. It turns out they are liable and must prove the car wasn't faulty at the time of purchase within the first 6 months of ownership apparently.

Glad you got it sorted. It's a shame we have to fight for decent service and our legal rights to be upheld in this country, all to often one has to escalate to get results - but hey ho!

Haha to true, well the list of today is that both coil springs have snapped at the back with them going through the mounts, needs a new wheel bearing on O/S wheel and a nice pothole in Godalming has given me a lovely bulge in me tire, so looking at this I might just chop the bloody thing in!

 

But as you can see not feeling like long drives in it, and SWMBO has the Micra so no joy there!

I will be there tonight men, you cant stop a PD Diesel from pumping!!!  :p

Well I tried to follow an M3 home. Worked out my car doesn't handle bends at 1 hundred mph very well, compared to m3 man who looked quite planted...this is not a fair world
