Hi to all could anyone help,I put petrol in my 01 octavia 2.0l petrol today and then it wouldnt start,the engine was spinning but wouldnt catch,i have since noticed that i couldnt hear fuel pump priming when i switch ignition on,ive checked fuse and replaced relay bt no joy could anyone help,is it the pump i need to change???? thanks for any replies :dull:  :dull:

You can or you can feel it operating. You can also check for a voltage at F28 or across pins 1 and 4 at the fuel pump (blue/red and brown wires).

wow you can change the pump from inside? Its under the back seat?

That's good to know. I thought it was a tank removal job.

I used Rob's handy guide when I did my fuel pump internals. As he says, it is a simple job that can be done inside the car, but I hated all the squeaking plastic noises when pulling the thing out and dismantling the pot for fear of breaking something and rendering my car useless!

That's why I posted the guide - it was a bit of a scary job for me to do and I didn't find much online showing the process. I wasn't keen on the open top of the tank with all of that petrol exposed to the air either.
