Hi everyone I'm new to the forum, just wanted to ask a couple of things with regards to a couple of minor modifications. Bought a mk1 octavia vRS last week (currently trying to get the drivers door control module and moo'ing brakes fixed under warranty), and ive been looking into getting an induction kit and recirc valve. Been looking on the forum and a lot of people seem to reccomend getting a cheap ebay CAI kit and replacing the filter with a decent one. But i cant seem to find them on ebay anymore, i can only come across kits that bolt the filter straight onto the MAF and run ducting to the filter. Ideally i would want the filter routed to behind the battery somewhere, so i was thinking a 45 degree aluminium pipe... would a plain pipe from the MAF work (without bringing up warning lights) or would it need a valve for a hose to link to? And the other thing was the compbrake diverter valve, the forge copy i believe, i cant find that for sale anywhere, do they still make them?

I'm also fully aware there will be little to no performance gain with these mods, it's pretty much purely for the noise.

Thanks in advance :)

For what it's worth, you can sometimes create more problems than you solve by fitting a filter setup like this, especially without any other mods like a remap.

I have a stage-1 Revo remap, with a Forge re-circ valve, and a pipercross standard panel replacement filter.

She sounds a lot meatier on induction now, and this setup gives a pretty loud woosh-tish dump valve noise, that is even noticeable enough outside the car to make pedestrians look. But all without any running problems as well, and keeping all the nice stock pipework.

Works for me!
