Anyone recommend a garage in/near Crewe, Cheshire (or Stoke-on-Trent) that i can trust to service/maintain my Mk2 Octavia Scout diesel?

Preferably one that knows what they are doing e.g. Haldex etc.

When I was in Crewe I used ABP Motorsport to carry out work on my Fabia vRS (at the time they did MOT's etc for Cheshire council). For servicing with Skoda I used Robert Eardley, never had an issue and maintained my car (out of warrenty period) for about 50k before I came back down south.

 

This was however over 5 years ago!!

Thanks for the reply. It was Robert Eardley I wanted to avoid. I have bought an Octavia Scout privately which Robert Eardley originally supplied and have serviced. After a bit of probing seems they have never changed the haldex oil. I bought the car in June and had it serviced by them. At that time the haldex oil change was due but they never mentioned it and as I mentioned, turns out it never has. I'm in talks with them about it and also with skoda UK. ABP once set up the suspension on a golf gti I owned. During "testing* they managed to bottom out the suspension and shred the tyres on the wheel arches.

We might be out of the range for the distance you wish to travel, but we are in Shropshire.

Votex at Congleton seem to have a good name but I haven't had to use them---yet!!!

only just seen you other post,   can't speak for the mechanics but the rest of the crew at Stoke are a bunch of monkeys--thought Crewe guys were,  better now I wonder--think it's gone down hill since RE retired and sold out---I think Stoke SEAT is the same outfit  keep us posted how you get on

I think you're right about going downhill since RE retired and sold on the business. I also think you're right in that the same business runs RE Skoda and Stoke Seat. Can't think of their name off hand. Stoke Skoda are supposed to have won a Skoda dealership award.

If you want to keep to the skoda network, I've found Faintree at Telford to be good.
