New Octy VRS: interior photo

Featured Replies

hey! the following page contains some more photos of the new vrs, icluding a shot of the dashboard, which i havent seen before so if its new to you as well, have a gander.....

That's the first time I've seen the dash, it looks lovely. I want one. I might wait for the PD170 though...:)

I really like it,the dash is very cool,i just wish the front looked a little bit more aggressive like the Octy Mk1 vRS.

i would have one dependant on cost/spec compared to its rivals.

the new R32 has caught my eye though...............

Just Like a MK5 Golf! With the Dual Zone Climate etc

They've changed the bits that are normally dark grey weaved pattern to silver, and that's it I think. Extra silver around the dials maybe.

I was hoping for a Golf GTi type steering wheel :(

im going to go against the grain here and say what i really feel, its horrible, it looks like a ford mondeo or vectra, the dash granted is nice but it looks like any other 5 door hatch on theroad today, it doesnt look like a sports car, the mark 2 vrs looks aggresive like a sports car and the front end has a sports car feel, this has nothing to me it looks like a mondeo it doesnt look like a sports hatch and the alloys are horrible.sorry to rant but i think they couls have done alot better considering the real competition they have from the new leon, civic focus st.

Aggressive? It looks about as aggressive as a kitten. And as sporty as a pair of Y fronts.

definatley not liking the new front bumper, not deep and agressive enough for me,mrs agrees too, which is odd.she very rarely agrees with anything i say.

I like it! The seats look great. The rest of the car might be a bit of the tame side but it does look classy.

The Vrs badge has had a redesign too!

it has the same projector fogs in the headlight unit, and under bumper ones.the ones in the head light unit main beam then?

I think you are missing the point though, its not meant to be a sports car, or a rival to the smaller hot hatches.

Thats something I have always said too, it isnt a 'Hot Hatch' and shouldn't really be compared to them.

Aside from that I quite like the interior, the seats look to offer more side support than the current ones and the dash seems to be a big improvement, also removing the struts from the boot helps as well. Not sure about that accelerator pedal though

I think it's a bit bland to be honest.

not at all i realise this but it doesnt look sporty at all, the others have some sort of sporty edge to them and the old vrs looks sporty to a certain extent with the big front spoiler etc, and by calling it a vrs its suposed to be sporty otherwise it would be a standard 2.0 car, the focus rs looks sporty, and this is skodas sports model, its not a standard family car, we all know this hence the stiff ride, 17 inch alloys, exhaust etc etc

the new vrs looks boring, its not in the same market as the sports come family cars that are coming out, to me honestly on the inside nice, outside what a waste of time, it looks like any other car you would see at tescos on a saturday and this is what they call their flagship model, what a waste of 2 years planning.

you drive one, i was trying to be kind, i disagree with you, i think it does look more aggressive than alot of family hatches out there.

I think some of the misunderstanding stems from the fact that you said:

... the mark 2 vrs looks aggresive like a sports car ...

I think you meant Mark 1.

I echo your thoughts,I can see these at bargain basement prices if you wait for a year. Skoda have really failed to Improve on what was becoming a winner & once stocks build up the bargain boys on the interweb will be knocking them out for a good price

i thought the vrs changed shape slightly in 99/00 which would make mine 03/04 a mark 2, if im wrong let me know, i was sure someone said the shape was changed around 2000.

It was a facelift rather than a mark change, I believe...... :D

Chris

well yeah a facelift, its still a change in appearance from the original vrs.it doesnt change the fact i still think the earlier vrs's were alot more sporty looking than the new one.

I think we all agree - my point was that some people probably thought you were talking about the new one!

No facelift or any other change in appearance for the RS Octy as AFAIK - only change was on the normal Octy - which was before the RS arrived. All RS Octy's look the same out of the box :)
