Vehicle tax

Featured Replies

I know the car has tax on it but it's been lost by the garage where do I stand ?

Any reason the Dealership are not getting their butt in action and getting the replacement  Disc.?

£20 VED, lovely stuff. and a lovely car.

They did purchase a tax disc for it but lost it in the office so a replacement was going to be sorted but the son wanted the car today and not Saturday , it's taxed but not on the car so if its anpr it will so as taxed but if parked on the road and untaxed it will be an offence ? Hopefully new one will be here by Friday , black box being fitted in 6 weeks

The thing is if you drive it on the road, there's a chance that even though you've paid it, you may get charged for not displaying it! Which is kind of ironic considering in just over 2 months time they'll be abolished.

Yeah possibly charged but hopefully will be fine ;) no pun intended :)

Failing to display the tax disc is a separate offence, and people have been fined for it.

Chances of being caught are minimal so I'd be inclined to risk it.

Doesn't that become irrelevant from October 1st?

Yes - you can remove the disc from the 1st October

And by law of sod you'll be caught by a plod, who's having a seriously crap day and will nail you for it. Especially those who live in Essex, where the two wheeled buggers seem to have a particularly vindictive streak through them, if the TV shows that follow them are anything to go by!
