Info on a car

Featured Replies

Hello!

I put a deposit down on a fabia vrs mk1 today only £50 and am now a bit sceptical, so I'm wondering if anybody can give me any history on it.

It's number plate is KV56 KOV

At the moment it is running at 180bhp (on standard turbo) although been told it could be more.

The remap was done by Jabbasport.

It had a FMIC and has had a 'big mouth' conversion (I think that's what you call it.)

It has had a big breaks upgrade

EGR delete etc.

it pulled really well through all the gears and clutch felt fine.

Would anybody be put off by all the work that has been done to it?

It's only on 92k also from all the work which has been done what kind of issues could I be hit with? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot! post-109289-14101195543851_thumb.jpgpost-109289-14101196049434_thumb.jpgpost-109289-14101196126366_thumb.jpgpost-109289-14101196187912_thumb.jpgpost-109289-14101196267236_thumb.jpg

Don't want to put a downer on this but this is Pip vRS' old car (might have got that username wrong) and I am sure he said it will have been clocked...  VCDS can do mileage check on the ECU  ;)

I have linked said person to this thread on facebook so we shall soon see.  ;)

I'll do a bit of digging through some service history and pictures i have. But pretty sure it was around that mark when i sold it. The whole thing is a bit dodgy if you ask me. It had hybrid turbo and the lot running 200+. The brembos were different ones etc. last year when i checked it wasnt on the road. The crash bar is also missing on the front.

It might all be legit but inwas second owner and i know theres been at least 4 since me..

Email or txt the guy and ask him for the log book number, that way you can go on DVLA website and check the millage. Mods wudnt put me off. Buying a car thats already been done for you saves a LOT of time and money if done correctly but does take out the fun of learning. Get the millage checked dude.

Maybe the milage is about right. I sold it with alot less than i thought. This is the ebay advert from the guy who had it after the guy who bought it off me lol

Probably blew itself to smithereens and got fixed on the cheap.

Best way of checking if it's been clocked ,is to get MOT number( from MOT TEST CERT) or V5 document reference number and go to https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history-vehicle, with the VRN. that will give you the full MOT history of the car. AND more importantly the mileage at every MOT.

This is the car thats for sale at the back of where i work and i had noticed it spent alot of time either with no wheels on it or with the front bumper off it, i thought they were breaking it until i saw your post.

Not always accurate though, my Audi is an example. Back in 2007 the testing station entered an incorrect mileage into the DVLA computer, as so much time has passed since then, nothing can be done to correct this error. So an MOT mileage check of my car between 2007 and 2008 shows a difference of -8000 miles because one digit was entered incorrectly. I know its not clocked, and have paperwork for servicing that show a continuous increase in mileage. All MOTs since then show a steady increase, and the car had the same owner until some years later.

That explains the mileage and the lack of mods, the car was off the road for repairs, most likely a catastrophic turbo failure.

Bossfox has two or three for sale, look at his?

Both of which are cars that have been well known throughout the forum for a good few years!
