Fabia mk2 average age of driver?

Featured Replies

The Dura Shift were Automated Manuals.

My Transit was a Demonstrator that should have been Scrapped when they went Faulty, a 51 Plate.

Ford Changed the Design of the Actuator for the Clutches.

They had sold it to a Disabled Woman who had it Converted to a Camper, & with Hand Controls.

She spent a few thousand on the Faults at a Ford Dealership, and they were never resolved the issue.

(it was her Hand Control Brake & the Rear Brake Light that caused her Problem i found out.

But by then the Clutches had gone.)

I bought it cheap and drove it Manually with the Steering Wheel Buttons.

Then paid £2,000 for a New Actuator from Borg Warner.

Thats when i found out Ford had changed the Actuators after scrapping all Demonstrators that were out.

The one i had bought had slipped through the Net.

Medium Wheel Base, Semi High Roof.

When i sold it, the new Owner got a new Dura Shift Box in a Crate for £800, and the Van is still going now.

It did lots of Miles around the UK looking like a Workie Van but fitted out as a Camper.

I'm a fan of Ford! After my Transit mk5 and rebuilding a CVH engine for a mate I'd have another Ford auto every day of the week! We had a MK3 Fiesta that was bought new and was still going until 2 years ago!

I drove a manual for the first time in months today - it felt weird at first having to use my left leg! Think having DSG for three years might have made me very lazy :p - changing gear felt like a chore compared to the dodgem simplicity I'm now used to.

They're crap mate! Well it's a Semi Auto system! Cheap ones are crap like the Corsa Easytronic which is a pathetic car but then more expensive ones are great

I use the term 'Sequential' very loosely, it's not that fast a change and quite clunky but it's good enough for mum.     You won't see me on a trackday with the Fusion, that's for sure.

I'm 69 knocking on 70 & I don't care what people think. I still think its a solid, fast, head turning car, & I'll stick with it until something at least as good, & as cheap comes my way.

Best fun I've had in a car since the days of my old Triumph TR2.
