For something decent you could be looking at around £1,500 - £2k !

Sounds about right!

More than the cars worth!! If you just do what you can see (not inside the doors or boot or under the bonnet etc) probably about a grand. Maybe look into having it wrapped??

Wrapping is still £1k +

or buy an SE

or buy an SE

You could probably get an outside only for £1k.  But with door shuts, engine bay, etc etc, the price mounts.  Mainly due to it being often easier to remove panels/doors to spray

Depends on if you prepare it too!

I've done two for mates in the past year! Which have cost them about £500 because of the materials I used etc

Roof is easy no panel gaps etc just mask, strip and spray

true, which is why i wondered why i was quoted so much lol. although i guess as im getting the spoiler done at the same time as its technically part of the roof im guessing that makes it a little more difficult?

 Don't like the finish of it! Would it not have been cheaper to wrap it?

Yeah :) I'd guess the OP is looking near to 2K for a total colour change depends how far he wants to take it! I.e. Engine out, interior and colour coding parts too!

just remember... u get what u pay for.

if u want a proppa job,  ull be looking at  a full strip down and not much change from 3.5 - 4k

I know a bloke who does rally cars and charges about £6k :o but it's the best quality you can get around here for miles

we had the roller at work sprayed and that cost my guvna 8k. it looks stunning

I'm doing a Stag up at the works workshop was going to cost about £6k so I'll see how it goes :)

I'd be interested to spec up the price of parts etc for sorting your own spray equipment

I've had fair results with cans, with respect for their limitations....would be ace to have a go with proper compressors....

Might be something I could do in future for myself as when I move I have a double width garage (about both dimenions!) coming my way....more like a bloody workshop in fact the space !

Depends really as I run a dual compressor setup plumbed into wall mounted copper tubing and a built in air line moisture removal and filtration system with adjustable pressure which then runs to a roof mounted reel of rubber tubing which has a connector fitted on the end to which I then have a pressure gauge showing pressure at the spray gun and then a devilbiss spray gun however if you were doing cars I'd recommend another compressor to extract fumes and you also want an air fed mask, one use overalls and face protection as well as dust proofing the whole room and a well heated room at minimum but preferably an oven for a professional finish. It does tend to get rather expensive :) just my setup at work is about £1500

i payed £800 for complete car and door shuts inc wheels refurbed painting engine bay myself

Yeah lol I wasn't going that pro about it ! Just a better version of "basic" ;)

If I was spraying I'd do in on a nice warm still, not too humid day to be honest - and let the sun do the cooking for me !
