Does anyone know when the half model year changes take place?

 

I seem to recall it was BW45, 46 or 47 - last year the O3 started getting the updated door controllers that unfolded the mirrors on unlock on the half model year changes. Seeing as the factory runs for 48 weeks a year and the MY change over is Week 22, it is going to be somewhere around those weeks.

 

I ordered my L&K Week 27, it was accepted by the factory Week 28, and today I have just had a Code 10 build week of Week 46 - it was an unconfirmed of Week 52 yesterday!

 

So apart from the 22-24 week wait from order to expected delivery (ridiculous!!), will mine be the last of the 2015MY or one of the first of the 2015.5MY????

 

And I wonder what changes will be introduced on the half year - if they make the Diesel DSG 4x4 available from the half model year I won't be happy!

Not wanting to rub your nose in it Andy but I don't understand the widely differing build times. I ordered mine in week 21 (end of May) and it was built in week 27. It was at the dealership by first week in August when they asked me to accept delivery. I pointed out that I had requested Sept for the new plate so deferred delivery until then. So approx. 11 weeks from order to dealer whereas you seem to be looking at maybe 24 weeks?? Seems bizarre!

    My concern is the spec changes they introduce at the half MY - I could end up with something missing or I could be on to a winner as MirrorLink seems to be getting introduced on the DiscoverPro in the Golf, so I could end up with a few extras for free :)

     

    Don't mind the wait, but the dealer is going to be massively out of pocket on the p/ex as it will have about 5000 additional miles on it and be almost 3 months older than they were expecting. I bet they try to renegotiate ..................

    Do you think mirrorlink will be a software or hardware thing? VCDS or software updatable?

    Don't see why... as long as your phone can connect to the unit (i.e. through usb / bluetooth) then all it should need is a software update.  But if it's only coming to the DiscoverPro on the Golf, that's only going to be those with Columbus on their O3s.

     

    Personally, as an Apple user, my next car will be a Ferrari with CarPlay  :D .

    It has been asked about on one of the German forums, and the general consensus is that it was a different unit.

    Perhaps they will introduce a feature on the DSG to occasionally select reverse instead of 1st when setting off so it mimics the manual!

    But my automatic parking and reverse camera will sort all of that out for me as I sip tea in the comfort of my brown suede armchair

    At least as you grow older and start to lose control of your bodily functions, you'll not notice any staining on the suede! :rofl:

    I think we are a similar vintage, we are at one with our Skodas and a 40+ year old Skoda would be expected to leak in a few places! :rofl:
